Just to be a pedant you say "best source of" not that the documentation they provide is the best.
So I would say no they are not the best source as other places provide info in a more friendly form (I tend to prefer IBM Alphaworks for one example) and
The actual content I find to be better than average for many things but often a pain due to, for one example, them channeling you (understandably in business) to the latest products relevant doc's not necessarily what you want (version wise).
People always assume that everyone will want to live with a TV in every room, computers and all the rest of modern western society. But you know what, not even every inhabitant of those nations wants to. Probably lots don't if they ever through about it.
It is possible to live a happy probably more productive life without those things. In fact all those things that make the west so happy (I laugh putting happy there) are usually things that the super rich and arguably most productive in the west don't tend to bother much with. They are too busy.
The reality is those "backward nations" often wanted to be left alone and live the lives they were living not have it all ripped away so the things they loved and enjoyed like clear skies, peace and quiet, wide variety of wildlife to hunt and eat, small population density have been taken from them because invaders thought their ways were better as opposed to just more efficiently aggressive.
I can't help but think this is showing an attitude of "we have to do the work on Windows and well anywhere else someone else will do the work for us if they want the browser"
Sorry but anyone who thinks that a billion dollar company copies and pastes licenses in that un reviewed manner is less than a half wit.
If people bother to read the term it says (translating for morons) if you use their services you are agreeing they have a right to do the things with your copyrighted work necessary in order to provide the service.
In short if you didn't grant such terms even to transmit your document (as an example) to the service because would be copyright violation.
I'm not saying there aren't potential holes to abuse but almost all reporting I have seen is just wrong.
Working from home for the last few years until last December I was more productive for the hours done. But it was the whole life style that made it so. The not commuting, not having co-worker interruptions and being able to do the daily things like the garden, take cars for servicing and generally shop freed my time from standing in queues and as a whole my life was way better.
Then I chose what hours to work and as some posters have said, if I got a task at 4pm I sometimes would get it done that night until midnight or two and leave it in the other peoples inbox ready for them to start with it the next day.
And once current circumstances pass such a self employed arrangement is what I shall return to.
In the UK you are still required to perform any lawful order from your employer (within work, they can't order you home to eat everything in your fridge!). At least since the late 19th Century (possibly later) it is no longer a criminal offense not to do so just a breach of contract for which they can lawfully terminate the contract with the blame being on you and still then compel you to comply with the policy on patents.
Of course with the growth of law it is harder to actually know when an order is in fact unlawful.
The judge should strip them of their right to practice until the successfully pass an English language exam showing that they can actually read and comprehend words.
If you leave a bomb anonymously we'd all want you tracked.
Both hate speech and the bomb are an attack. So why not, freedom of speech shouldn't really enter into it unless what is said is true.
So if they posted something true as a judge that would be my requirement. Show me that it is a lie in which case I'll pass the order to bring them to be held accountable. Otherwise if it is truth well pants you can't sue over the truth (can you?)
I get the impression that firstly people don't want to learn anything like LaTeX because it involves some effort, even though if you are a power user such effort in a career will repay you bountifully
and secondly people don't want to learn something that is old because anything old can't be as good as something new.
You have already assumed that there are principles common to all good software and that those that are remain so without the context in which they formed.
Just like some countries require companies (industry) to use water from down stream of where they returned it to the river perhaps the concept can apply to Microsoft.
They can be given one year before they are no longer allowed to use virus protection on any of their corporate machines (OK perhaps they can have on on the mail server to prevent them getting out).
Proactive protection, does that mean don't buy windows. Which if they have that business method patented means anyone who doesn't buy windows is of course infringing their proactive virus protection patent?
And it begs the next regressive argument, is it merely our inevitable deterministic work as caused by the initial conditions of the universe (and continue to regress).
In other words, it is only invented if we have free will.
On the one hand I agree with you. On the other I just think it is yet another inevitable problem that arises from having too many people. There just aren't enough facilities, we can't build enough (in the UK) to have the space previously available in such places.
I don't think taking away the diving boards and general plastering over every crack is the solution. Getting population to a level where we have room for resources at levels that allow them to be properly used and without the break downs that occur due to pressure of numbers is the right solution.
Another problem is social constructs. "Common sense" and also simple passing on of learning between generations barely happens the way it did. So what and how to use things properly and (similarly but separately) to behave properly just doesn't make it through. So there's an increase in what you could call loose cannons. Hence more harm occurs.
People dither. Some people are idiots. Two simple things that mean any attempt to load in a strict manner will always fail because a few people will exhibit one or more of those sorts of tendencies totally screwing the efficiency, causing delays and it all falls apart.
Maybe during the wait to board they should drill all the people who aren't already holders of their boarding proficiency certificate. The holding of which earns a notable discount on all flights and which can be revoked on the spot if you dither. Perhaps also hand out an efficient seating award to the person generally observed to board most fluidly. Carrot and stick!!
The reality is criminals are greedy and whilst something works will keep doing it. So you can eventually get them. If it wasn't for repeat offense by criminals in none internet crime most would get away with it.
The USA war of independence was started over commerce, profit and not having enough influence over the legislature! So influence from big business is the natural successor. The nation is founded on it.
Doesn't it show that potentially better organisation is to have diskless machines with remote storage to allow the massively redundant storage arrangement.
If they don't want to comply with the GPL (or other licenses) they shouldn't use the code. Seems so obvious along the lines of if you wan both feet don't shoot one off that I can't understand why they would say such a thing? Or are the bits in the article misleading?
The issue is not "do they have a dominant position" it is are they abusing their power to maintain it. It also seems really odd to moan about a monopoly on advertising. Surely if any competitor (even another advertiser) can buy space on your service for no added cost over any other customer in a different line you don't have abuse?
Strikes me MS are moaning about them being big enough to threaten (be immune to) Microsoft's own power.

All developments are not progress.

I encrypt things with GPG before dropping them to my backup gmail account.

Except features that were only in the "commercial" InnoTek product are now in the standard tool that you download.

Besides when was it freedom of anonymous speech?

Those people are idiots and lazy idiots at that.
I reckon under the UK copyright laws a list could be argued to qualify as a database. And probably lots of other places too. So it makes no sense.
And I suspect the radiation breaks down any useful nutrients from the food.
You have already assumed that there are principles common to all good software and that those that are remain so without the context in which they formed.
Neither should be assumed.

Would none humanoid intelligent life "prove the existence" to the believers of another god who made them in its image?
