Funny you should say Freedom Fries. I belive that Geno's steaks in South Philly still have it on their menu as such. If you like terrible service, greasy food and flagrant racism, this place is for you. For being a "Landmark" in Philadelphia, they are absolutely terrible. You can get better cheese steaks many other places (infact a small pizzaria right down 9th Street a bit called J&J's is AMAZING) in the area. Pat's steaks is not much better than Geno's, except they hate gays, rather than mexicans.
Complete ignorance. Yet people line up for blocks to get their steaks after the Eagles games let out. =/
An RIAA spokesman is quoted as saying that the litigation campaign has been "successful in completely destroying our public image."
Thought that would work a bit better. Funny too, whenever I try to bring up the RIAA to some of my co-workers and non tech. savvy friends... they give me the "Who the hell is that" look. GJ RIAA, keep it up.
Our problem is not with the control of information, but rather what we choose to listen to.
But when the important news of the day is Gay Marrage, weather or not the 10 commandments should be in a pubic building or a car chase viewed by helicopter... and all the major news outlets are covering it. How is the information not being controlled, or maybe just chosen poorly? When that trivial nonsense is all that is presented to the public, you have no choice to listen and be caught up in the bullshit.
Sir you clearly have more than 7 letters and demand that you abide by the rules immediately. This type of obvious disregard for the regulations set forth by the game makers is an insult to the integrity of the game mechanics and the American people simply will not stand for it..
Sorry, just practicing my scare tactics. Seems to be the way law works now a days.
I'm also a Mac user and not interested in playing the "Games for Windows" at all. I've seen a few of them on the 360 and I wasn't thrilled at all. Then again, not many PC games give me the joy I hope for.:(
Considering this is about Microsoft, I'm hoping this is limited to Xbox. =/ Not holding my breath though.
For sure though, any game with ads will not be getting my money. Last thing I need is to be playing MGS and have an ad for Viagra claiming to bring "New life to your Snake".
You raise some very valid points. I will admit to being very green when it comes to global politics and economics. I've just recently started following the news closely early this year. As a 22 year old American, you must understand my skeptacism about the motives of the energy companies. I've been, for lack of a better term, raped at the fuel pumps since soon after I started driving. Plus, I moved out on my own around then... letting me see the heating costs of my apartment rising steadily. All the while gas prices kept creeping up to over $4 here in the Philly area. And on top of that, the oil companies kept posting record profits year after year. I'm sure that they have a percentage mark up over the manufacturing costs just like any other business model. But when the prices rise so much as they did, maybe its time to cut down that overhead percentage to ease a bit of pressure off your customers.
I guess the overall point of my message is that if I walk outside and feel the breeze and sun on my face, then turn on the news and hear that there is an energy shortage... well, I'm going to be pissed off and confused. But if I hear that same news report telling me of a shortage of uranium, coal, ethanol, oil...whatever... well then how am I supposed to disprove that?
Well that's where the wind comes in. You just have to make sure that they have a "Hi" setting on the generators to blow the dust and debris out of the way!
Of course the ones getting the most attention can be much more easily controlled by those who provide it. I would love to see a rise in energy costs because a "shortage" of wind or sun light.
I too see this happening. Even right now the PS3 has the built in option to "install other OS". I tried Yellow Dog Linux...5? I forget which. It was a solid option to have but it ran terribly slow.
But hey, it's progress. It can only get better from here.
I would argue that consoles are better than a PC for MMOs. With the use of USB in the new systems a user can easily plug in a keyboard and mouse to mimic the input of a computer. Plus, they all have built in hard drive space with more than enough to hold the WoW directory plus a lot more.
I would like to point out there are most definately home versions of both guitarfreaks and drummania. The home controllers are meh though. Unless you want to drop a couple hundred for the arcade style guitar or have a drum machine at around 1k (yamaha is the official ASC and is also used for the arcade cabinets.)
The main problem with the "No such thing as a free lunch" theory is that people use it inappropriately, as you stated. I've always seen this as an economic principal, not necessarily a rule to life.
For example if anyone receives a good such as linux, they are not required to pay anything for it. Period. They are encouraged to donate or code to improve further releases, however this is completely voluntary. Taking out the cost of acquiring the software via bandwidth costs or disk cost, which is negligable, this is a completely free product.
The economic principal says that _someone_ paid for this. And they did. The community of programmers and donators helped pay for this release and subsequent releases to come. _They_ paid so that _you_, the average consumer, can get something for free.
While were at it, lets just redesign the US currency to now Read "This note is legal tender for all debts, public and private only if a corporation get their beak wet too."
I've been playing RockBand since it came out. Got pretty good on the drums and enjoy the game... But I just bought a drumset last weekend, and I gotta tell you I'm much happier with that. There's nothing like the creativity you get to release... Games let you keep rhythem... but not much else.
I've insisted that many of my peers watch Colbert and Jon Stuart... unfortunatly I've always gotten the response of "I don't get it" or "that wasn't funny."
It is a sad time we are going thru in the States. American Idol gets so many votes per week yet we can't even get our public interested in even the most basic political affairs.
Maybe we do need Britney to run for president. Or at least have one of the candidates have Britney on stage and pull her top down. That will get a rise out of the public. Public's interest, that is.
We're screwed when we run out of ice. But then again, that isn't scheduled to happen until 3003 or so, so why should we care?
Third is oral? I forget my bases.

Corruption is a bitch.
How will we know exactly how extremely high altitudes affect baking times now?
Well that's where the wind comes in. You just have to make sure that they have a "Hi" setting on the generators to blow the dust and debris out of the way!

I think editing the name of LoLiTech would be beneficial for such people who read that as "Loli-tech".
I for one was extremely confused.

Someone pays, but not necessarily the end user.
If dark matter makes a black perl I think I know of a great way to cheat in Hexic.
Isn't this how SecondLife runs?
While were at it, lets just redesign the US currency to now Read "This note is legal tender for all debts, public and private only if a corporation get their beak wet too."
I would rather have Revolution 8.
Number Eight Belch... Number Eight Belch
I played too much Rockband so I bought a drumset. My downstairs neighbors don't like it though... so I've been drumless over the last month :(
Oh so we're talking about GLaDOS?
