the sound of every single RIAA member crapping themselves,
RIAA members create, manufacture and/or distribute approximately 90% of all legitimate sound recordings produced and sold in the United States.
call me crazy, if they have 90% of the record biz...isn't that a cartel?
The ultimate goal with all our anti-piracy efforts is to protect the ability of the recording industry to invest in new bands and new music and to give legal online services a chance to flourish.
yeah, but when your the majority of 'legitimate sound recordings' you have the market to yourselves...
That's why we educate. That's why record companies license music to legal services. And that's why, when necessary, we enforce our rights through the legal system.
.....notice the word 'our' rights....not, the rights of our member organizations....
With so many great legal music options available,
...okay, now your fooling no one..
there is really no excuse for music theft. Fans have a choice: pay a little now or a lot more later.
hopefully if this case turns out the right way, all that will be changed to 404
You: why can't you @$$-holes use a creative commons license? Them: well that would imply that we are about creativity... You: your not? Them: we're just in it for the money....
we had the same problem in Ireland, there was a huge out burst in the media. but the site exploded onto the mainstream.
I think that in a career where you are given authority over young people, it can be very easy to go on some fascist head trip. teachers need to be brought back to reality here;
1. you provide an important service....but your not super-jesus 2. you provide an important service....but we're not going to filter out valid points about you. 3. you provide an important service....but in the real world (that thing outside the class room) you're not in charge.
so teachers are getting an F in public relations from me.

too bad the other horses finished years ago and the race track no longer exists...

There is a lengthy list of new applications, most significantly Windows response to Apple Macintoshs iLife suite of media applications. In Vista, these are the Photo Gallery, Calendar, DVD Maker, Media Player 11, and DVD Maker. It adds to that group, Meeting Space, which is a collaboration program for local network users. Is DVD Maker so good you had to say it twice?... I'm still not sold on it.....
Fascism is a political ideology and mass movement that seeks to place the nation, defined in exclusive biological, cultural, and/or historical terms, above all other sources of loyalty, and to create a mobilized national community. Many different characteristics are attributed to fascism by different scholars, but the following elements are usually seen as its integral parts: nationalism, authoritarianism, militarism, corporatism, totalitarianism, anti-liberalism, and anti-communism. There are numerous debates between scholars regarding the nature of fascism, and the kinds of political movements and governments that may be called fascist. For further elaboration, please see definitions of fascism and fascism and ideology.
Fascism emphasizes the role of the personal will in creating political institutions, the use of violence in supressing political and ideological enemies and an existentialist emphasis on "living the moment dangerously".
The term fascism was first used by Benito Mussolini, and it comes from the Italian word fascio, which means "union" or "league", and from the Latin word fasces (fascis, in singular), which means rods bundled around an axe. The fasces was an ancient Roman symbol of the authority of magistrates, and the symbolism of the fasces suggested strength through unity: a single rod is easily broken, while the bundle is very difficult to break.

Well let me just put it this way...
Paranoia is an excessive anxiety or fear concerning one's own well-being which is considered irrational and excessive, perhaps to the point of being a psychosis. This typically includes persecutory beliefs concerning a likely threat, or a belief in a conspiracy theory.
well after reading this http://slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=07/02/13/133221 4 and yet again confirming what we all already know, I think that the RIAA should stop this B.S. I mean who believes them at this stage?...
this guy is looking for an accounting solution.....
now there one thing the "move to windows" crowd are forgetting this is an accounting solution....a solution for accountants...
option 1
burn huge hole in the bank, and pay the micro-mafia tax.
or
option 2
new accounting software modules, cheaper and quicker then installing windows on any number of computers
now if you were an accountant which would you go for?....in terms of money having somebody develop new software for your company or switching to better software might be cheaper then being exploited.
i mean its the whole total cost of pwnership debate with the cost factor thrown in for good measure
