    Well, I used to have a 486 laptop that must have been 6-8 years old, and I recently got rid of it because the monitor was getting pretty worn out.
    (Unfortunately, I don't know anything about toxins and such things in LCD monitors, so I can't give you any answers there...)

    I'm not sure, but last time I checked AOL and Time Warner didn't have too much influence in Europe.
    Well, I don't know about Time Warner, but I know that I once got an AOL CD, so they are kinda present (but I think you're right about the amount of influence they have...).

    By this logic Harley-Davidson should use their motorcycles to haul motorcycles to dealers instead of using big trucks I know, "it's not a fair comparison, because motorcycles aren't really designed for hauling huge loads and trucks are..
    Now HD aren't exactly competing with any major truck manufacturers are they? With your logic, a consumer should be pissed off if it's new database software isn't fun to play or doesn't run MS Office...

    I think the difference is that Windows File sharing is not used mainly to distribute copyrighted material. Napster was created specifically to do that.
    You've never been to any major demopartys have you?
    Go to such an event(like, say, Dreamhack here in sweden, with 3000 visitors) and just take a quick look around and you'll notice that just about every person using windows is downloading their 3117 w4r3z using windows file sharing

    I would prefer to have a package concisting of a browser,a newsreader and a mail reader, all of which are separate programs (so those who don't want to don't have to install or use the parts they don't want to use)

    I don't think he meant that it should say http://whateverserver/index.html, but rather that index.html shouldn't just ship you on to home.html, since that is very irritating.

    Well, MAME can also emulate a NeoGeo, thus enabling you to play games such as King of Fighters 98 (over 30Mb), now that might be a reason it slows down computers.

    The problem was the lack of social skills (for relating to people outide their set) many of these guys had.
    Or maybe others lack the social skills needed to communicate with them.
    Just because their communication skills are different, doesn't mean they aren't as good as everyone elses.
