I resent that statement. Im a senior in highschool with a perfect driving record. Further more im taking 300 level computer science courses at my local college.
Now if you would put "most" infront of your statement I would agree. Im tired of not being able to find a job becuase im young.
Maybe you should drop the CS classes and concentrate on English, instead.
but the only difference between Napster and shoplifting a CD is physical evidence.
yawn. mod parent -1, troll. No one can honestly say that they think that.
Here's a hint, if I shoplift a CD, the store doesn't have it anymore, if I use Napster, no one is deprived of anything. They're so completely different, not only are they in different ballparks, they're playing a different game.

I wouldn't mind if radio stations played 35% more Rush. maybe I should move to Canada.:P
I started to read that, but you had way too many exclamation points! Like at the end of every sentence! And it got really annoying! After only a couple lines!
Rebates are good for the most part.. I don't know why you'd *not* send them in, it's like free money, and you don't even have to leave the house.:P
That said, I did get ripped off once when buying an APC UPS... I got a prompt reply back saying "your rebate is invalid because you didn't buy it at OfficeMax or OfficeMax Online" (I believe).. when, of course, I *did* buy it at the OfficeMax Online store. Unfortunately I accidently threw away the notice, so I couldn't call them up and complain, though I have a feeling it wouldn't have helped anyway.
But, other than that, I've had all good experiences. My printer, my scanner, some CDRs, my CD-RW drive, and many other computer-y things have all been helped by rebates.
When putting your mp3's/computer on a p2p system, you are not sharing your tape with a friend or two, you are inviting the entire world to rip off the record companies along with you.
So when does it become unethical? If you share it with 3 friends? 4? 5?
What *are* you on about? I've had far more trouble printing in Windows than in FreeBSD. And OpenOffice has nothing to do with printing, and since this article is about Office, things like printing (and KDE and Linux, for that matter) are not really the point.
Have you actually tried the things you disparage, or do you just listen to FUD?
I also like the one about "I always carry two sacks of something around, so when someone says 'Hey, can you give me a hand?' I can say 'Sorry, got these sacks.'"
I found this highly amusing. Lighten up everybody, you can return to your regularly scheduled "Linux crypto hackers open-sourced the BSD Microsoft monopoly!" posts tomorrow.
besides the fact that you're trolling, why should I switch to something I don't know as well, when what I have does what I need very well?
In general, I find that FreeBSD is more logically laid out than Linux is, but honestly that could just be because that's what I learned first. I tried Linux and never really did much with it, but once I tried FreeBSD I never looked back.
Well, all three of them are kickass at their instruments, and Geddy Lee's voice is much better now. So if by "it", you mean "create such an awesome album as _Vapor Trails_ this far into their career", then, well, I'll just say because they rock.
When did government ever do anything better, cheaper, quicker than industry?
the Interstate highway system comes to mind. Also landing on the moon.

Except, of course, the *definition* of 'First World' is "The US, and countries that wish they were (i.e. western Europe)". The definition of 'Second World' was then the USSR and other Evil Godless Commies(TM), and 'Third World' was everyone else.
So saying the US is "third world" basically destroys the definition, and without definition you can say anything you want. As long as I say that "cheese" really means "land south of Canada and north of Mexico", I can say that "The US is made out of cheese."
"I'll take 'Slashdot' for $600."

"Correct! We also would have accepted basically any other Slashdot username."

Is it just me, or has UserFriendly gotten, well, lame in recent years?
;)
I think it's just you...
most people realize UserFriendly has *always* been lame.
It's a joke, son.

troll? uh huh. apparently the mods, however, *are* on drugs.
gardening is something that successful people would prefer to pay the help to do.
meh. YMMV. i love vegetable gardening and herb gardening and so forth, it's very peaceful and gives me a break.
though if I could afford it I'd pay "the help" to mow the lawn all damn summer. fucking lawn.

Nice try, though.

"Outdated" and "stale" my ass.
You left out "synergy" and "e-business" and "leverage".
I don't (have a Blockbuster nearby). I don't really care, but no, not everyone does. *shrug*
By 1996, you mean "1998", right?
And GTA1 was very little like GTA3, so it's still true that there was nothing like GTA3 a few years ago (which was what they meant).
I'm not a shell guru, so my opinion doesn't matter much, but I use bash or tcsh. *shrug*
How does Rush do it?
Well, all three of them are kickass at their instruments, and Geddy Lee's voice is much better now. So if by "it", you mean "create such an awesome album as _Vapor Trails_ this far into their career", then, well, I'll just say because they rock.
Or was that not what you meant?
