So, it alright if the people put an key-logger on your computer.
Well, I stand by my opinion putting an key-logger on an college computer in order to collect passwords of fellow students must be punished!
Tim S
PS: The college I currently go to gives the Tech students machines where they have local admin rights; this is order to learn things. This DOES NOT grant the students the right to be an key-logger on these machine. ANY IDIOT like you should understand this.
An good Electrician should check all the wires.
Three wire setup example of one type of three wires (120)
High
Neutral
Ground
Ground to Neutral should read very low; best reading is zero volts AC.
High to Neutral should read about 115 VAC RMS
High to Ground should read about 115 VAC RMS
Three wire setup example of another type of three wires (240)
High
Low
Ground
Ground to Low should read about 115 VAC RMS
High to Low should read about 230 VAC RMS
High to Ground should read about 115 VAC RMS

If you have physical access any moderately competent computer person can install a key logger.
So, in my opinion you are saying libraries and schools can not provide computers for patrons and students to use.
I call this massive case of elitism; not everybody in the USA has their own laptop or computer.
Tim S
I agree what you did was white-hat what he did was mild black-hat; he needs punished.
Installing an key-logger and removing it; and then reporting that key-loggers can be installed I would put as an white-hat. Leaving it installed and collecting user passwords is black-hat.
My School gives the students limited Admin rights to PCs because it is needed to learn certain things; if one of the students used that right to install an key-logger and collect passwords, I would want them to serve jail time.
CS and Engineering school computers; not the whole college are setup for student to have limited admin access. This allows students to install needed open source software and demo/free software.

The reactor is not the thing the USA is trying to stop in Iran or North Korea. It is the reactor fuel processing and re-processing. This is because reactor fuel processing can be used for both peaceful nuclear power and non-peaceful nuclear bombs.
Tim S
Yeah, just like using the temperature of the stove burner is an bad way to predict when the kettle should be steaming.

PS: Sun spots/Non Sun spots is one indicator of solar energy output change. We really need better and more instruments to measure solar energy variations and the Energy reflected from the planet (see global dimming) and the energy that makes to the planet surface. If we had those measurements then we could really start work on a good model. But we very little hard data the models are all just guess work and most of them are likely just garbage in/garbage out.
I agree with you; I was an SQL developer on an system that SSN on it, but no good reason to have them. I removed them all after I removed all reference to the column.
The only sensitive data left was employee number and first and last names; these were required by the program.
Tim S
I downloaded at least 20 600MB Linux Distro ISOs using Dialup and GetRight download manager.
Note, you just have to be willing to wait several days.
Windows update was simple.
Now, I have the slowest/cheapest DSL option.

Once the warm-up stops the run-up to the Ice age begins.
There are signs that the warming might be peaking, but it called climate [change] for a reason.
Tim S
You are so right; my last manager/project leader once said he learned how to code in Java in a week long course. Note, by his standards he might be right. If being able to do an hello world; is all that is needed.
But, he was not able to do programing specs that were usable by the coders.
How many CS managers how are rotten are there? As an percentage, my has been between 3 long term managers 2 good ones and one rotten one. Had several others for too short a time to reach conclusion. Talking to others my rate of 1/3 bad is very low; is this true?
Tim S
Shuttleworth's proposal makes perfect sense for the Linux Distros that just repackage the upstream work. But, it does not make sense for the Distros that do a lot of original work.

I just read the wiki http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Memristor
And, I see now why it should count as a forth basic element.
But, I can not under stand the i(t) equation on the wiki, I have problems deciding the order of operations on the right side of the equal sign.
Tim S
I just read the article and this one also.
http://www.hpl.hp.com/news/2008/apr-jun/memristor.html
I just don't see why it is not called a semiconductor device like the transistor is instead of a forth basic element. I do consider it important like the transistor is, but not a basic building block like Caps, resistors, or inductors. It is not a passive discrete component like they are.

One more time, there is only one solar systems! We live in it.
It is called Solar System because the Star in the center is name Sol.
The other are Star Systems, not Solar Systems.
The only exception I know of is when you are talking about parallel universes.
Tim S
Access to to Keyboard is all that is needed for an hardware based key-logger to be installed. Tim S
FYI: I would want an murderer to serve more than 6 months. Tim S

There is only one Solar System the rest are star systems; The name of our sun is Sol therefor we get Solar System. Tim S
You do know if reverse engineering is illegal all the IBM compatible PCs are illegal because the BIOS was reverse engineered. Tim S

I don't know it only takes an single careless match to start an forest fire. So, maybe an nano could burn down Rhode Island. Tim S

Maybe the headline should have been "We will be mining landfills by 2017 for Rare Earths."
I don't like my Earth Rare, I prefer it Well done. Tim S
