I'm not blaming the wife for anything. I'm just surprised she never noticed the signs or smell the infection. Something that bad had to have smelled, right?

As soon as the story broke about the online jailbreak I saw numerous Facebook posts about heading out to the Apple/AT&T stores to jailbreak the demos. This is going on all over the country as we type.

Let's face it - sales in general is a pretty sleazy profession. I know it's necessary, but the tactics employed make a sales career just one step above being a lawyer. Yeah yeah, moderate this troll, but you know it's true.

  6. Sales v. Technical on High-Frequency Programmers Revolt Over Pay · · Score: 1

Sales jobs will always pay more than technical jobs and a programmer is basically a glorified technician. The disparity between paychecks is relative, but even this is probably a bit excessive.

I'm guessing the biggest worry was about shrinking land masses due to the rise in ocean levels from melting ice caps. I'm not so sure that the survival of the species in general was in question. Just a helluva lot of coastal cities disappearing. I live about 10 miles from the beach so I would actually benefit from this phenomenon if it gave me waterfront property over time.

  8. Intellivision Baseball on Our Video Game Heritage Is Rotting Away · · Score: 1

We used to play that for hours and hours. There's something fun about the simplicity of it compared to the bloat of options that now rule sports games. That rotating disc to control the players was certainly a pain in the thumb, but turning a double play from left field was a thing of beauty.

The post sounds kind of troll-ish to me. Why is this so shocking? Pretty much every internet club out there gives you the ability to delete your account. Why would Facebook be the exception? Maybe I'm missing something. It's just seems normal that if you create an account you have the ability to delete it if you want to.

This needs to be modded up. Everything has a spin and it's nearly impossible to find truth. All one can do it try to wade through the spin and try to find out the underlying truth. But man it's getting harder and harder.

Prince...Prince! Prince!! Whaddaya doing?? Damn. That's a shame. I mean, I know he was odd, but I had no idea he was addle-minded. In response though to the "get off your ass and tour" comment. I saw him working his butt off a couple years ago at the Hard Rock in Hollywood, FL ($300 tickets - the cheap seats were $200) and he performs regularly at his club in Vegas. So I don't think he's hurting for cash.

Yeah, the capitalist culture that occasionally runs amok hasn't really worked all that well except to have created and promoted our entire way of life. How'd that non-capitalist experiment FORMERLY known as the USSR turn out? China's economy really turned the corner when they started adopting a more capitalistic basis for their economy. North Korea (a non-capitalist country)is one of the poorest countries in the world and it's citizens are starving. Cuba continues to be a (just barely) second world country. Capitalism works better than anything else humanity has been able to come up with to date. It's not perfect, but to say it doesn't work all that well is just baseless trolling.

It seems as if I'm always looking for the spin on traditional media stories. Every since FOX News went rogue conservative it's created the same partisanship in the news organizations as is in our government. The divide seems to be getting wider too as media outlets pander to their "target audience" on either the right or left, while those of us in the silent middle search harder for unbiased reporting.
