I do medical transcription and obviously have to be fast and accurate. Using traditional nine-finger QWERTY methods, I have a raw (99% accurate) speed of around 95 wpm. Add in macros and I top out around 130-150 depending on the content. There is simply no way two fingers could even come close.

I've never heard that Microsoft paid off Tecmo/Team Ninja/Itagaki to make DOA Xbox-exclusive. The only explanation I've ever heard (multiple times) is from Itagaki saying that he felt the Xbox was the most powerful graphically and he wanted the games to be played the way they were intended instead of making ports that just won't look as good. He's also made clear that the situation could easily change with the next console generation.

That being said, I'm sure there are financial incentives given to publishers if they release exclusively on a particular console, probably in the form of lower licensing fees. Of course, this is obviously just as true for Sony (see Rockstar/GTA for a clear example of paying off a developer for console exclusivity). Considering the paucity of [US] third-party exclusives on the Gamecube, I don't know if Nintendo offers incentives.

Premise=faulty. Just because Sony is endorsing open graphics formats doesn't mean that the bar will be set any lower for what games will be sold for their console. It's partially a public relations ploy, basically saying "Microsoft is evil for forcing XNA while we will give you your choice of open toolsets [which you will still have to use to make PS3-compatible games under our licensing agreement]"; and, of course, the other part is addressing developer concerns about the relative difficult of coding for Sony consoles versus Microsoft consoles.

I certainly don't see any indication here that the PS3 will be able to play unprotected/unlicensed discs out of the box, which would be the only way to TRULY open up the platform...and which I, by the way, would consider a supremely stupid move since the games are where the real money is at for Sony.

The refresh rate isn't a big problem unless you desire visible fps over 60 (the vast majority of LCDs refresh at 60 Hz). The "response time," though can cause a problem. This is the speed at which the pixels change color. Slow response time is why all the old LCDs used to leave mouse trails even before mouse trails were a setup option in a GUI. Things have improved to the point where such trails are hardly noticeable, but in fast-moving games you can still end up with afterimages as the LCD pixels attempt to display the next frame.

In terms of his words (and his actions in fighting for the newly goody two-shoes Reven), Canderous does make a start toward the light side if you talk through his entire subquest and followup (lots of regretful words about being out only for war and glory). Of course, it's not reflected on his character sheet - then again, it would have no effect if it was since he's not Force-sensitive.

To me, the biggest problem of the light/dark choice in KOTOR is that the story path remains essentially the same, with differences only becoming evident towards the end. What would be interesting is if different planets/quests were encountered according to one's alignment. Even more entertaining (for replay value) would be if a THIRD path was encountered by those going neutral (presumably this would be the more difficult to achieve). It would take a lot of extra work but the fans would eat it up.
