I use Touch ID to open my 1Password app and hopefully from the next version of macOS, I should be able to unlock it on mac through a Touch ID on my phone.
Well, it also says that the driver of Tesla didn't see the truck because he had sun in his eyes, which is also partly what confused the sensors on the Tesla. It is very likely that he might not have applied breaks even if he was not having the car on autopilot.
If you drive on the same road over and over again, it will actually learn how you go into the curve and also how other Tesla drivers do it. Eventually after you drive through it enough times, the auto-pilot will be driving just as smooth as you are. I would suggest to read up a bit on the Fleet Learning feature.
How am I going to do that? Should I avoid any mention of the schools where I studied and when? Should I omit the name of the major as they change every decade? Should I omit any experience older than 10 years, just to give myself a chance? Should I skip on my job titles as they give out the time the position was held just as easily? There is no way to prevent age discrimination when the recruiter looks for the age, he will find it in every resume.
See if the GMO have been introduced to society, then we had a debate and anyone could freely decide to make the research and either eat them or not based on their own judgement, then we would have all these people promoting GMO so their market share increases and we would be saying positive things about them to overcome the fears.
But they were forced on everyone, we cannot even make the choice, the company behind them is just plain evil by almost any moral standards so... the reaction is exactly the opposite. We will keep bashing them and lobby for laws that outright prevent their introduction, until this changes and people won't be forced. You should know this by now.
Almost anything in society is opposed by maybe a 1-5% minority, which is extremely vocal, but will shut up if given a choice to avoid what they oppose.
It really has very little to do with Islam. In the 10th to 15th century when most of the barbarity happened in Europe, Islamic world was the center of culture, science and morality in the world. It has everything to do with people, power and war. Every religion can be completely bonkers for hundreds of years, and we shouldn't act all mighty and on a high horse when:
1) We have just about got out of the dark ages. The defense of marriage act was just 10 years ago... 2) We have caused most of the issues of middle east through our own policies, starting in 1916. 3) We have completely destroyed all the secular governments in the region because of this irrational fear of socialism taking root and spreading to US.
1300 AD is when it really started except for couple lynchings in 12th century, 1400 AD it was just gaining steam. In one of the more famous cases in 1415 Jan Hus was burned in Constance as one of the first protestant priests for simply asking the church to have sermons in native language. It produced a 14 year long protestant uprising in Central Europe that has been target of 7 unsuccessful Crusades. The echoes of it were shaking Europe through the entire 15th century.
Christians used to burn the sinners alive out of their love for them. Torture and religious terrorism were pretty much invented by Christians. They are currently just more assiduous by implementing their hatred through laws and courts, which is probably way more dangerous in the long term lasting effect it has on society.
At the time, brawn was automated, people shifted to exploiting brains for profit. Now brains are being replaced. What are we going to shift to exploiting this time?
... and I would really like to buy them extended iCloud storage. Well, tough luck there. Even if I had a local credit card, their particular country does not even have iCloud. I ended up switching my mother to US iTunes Store and re-downloading all the apps that are in both stores and telling her she might never be able to update those that are in the EU store only. Why is this even a problem? WTF?
Not even mentioning the fact, as written in the article, that if my parents tell me about a new record by a local popular artist, I am out of luck, because I am locked into the US iTunes Store. Just fix it, damnit.
I will believe that this is really a matter of law and not vengeance, when Hillary Clinton will serve her sentence. Until then, we have double standards for those in power and those looking in from outside.
You discover a door to a bank door open: Option #1: You tell the bank and the police. They do nothing. You let journalists know the bank and police did nothing for 2 years, you get jail sentence in retribution. Option #2: You tell some criminals for a cut of the profits, retire in Bahamas. No jail sentence.
Clearly the system wants us to take option #2. Lesson learned.
I think I am going to replace computer programming as a profession in my lifetime. I see other jobs that are much harder to replace. Most computer programmers simply locate problematic places in programs, and then generate a space of valid localized changes and then try them each to see which one would work. It is not a groundbreaking work to automate with just the application of current level of AI. Just a lot of tedious work really.
Please try to look for the suicide rates of 17 year olds and their causes and then let's have an educated discussion about public health crisis again. Mental health, relationship health, they are important parts of your entire well being as well.
Can you, please, slide on that slippery slope and break a leg? Anonymous Coward none the less. You guys are aware we got government stooges here trying to shape our discussions, right? Whoever modded this insightful...
How about some regulation that would make companies itemize the bills correctly. Why is the prize of cable internet with Comcast $15 with TV subscription, but $65 without it? I want one service to have one cost. If there is cost of running the cable, then itemize it at $50 on the bill. I want to be able to see what am I paying for and make my choices alla carte. The same with TV programs. I am sick and tired of all these packages.
Thank you for the link. I just contributed and I will vote for anyone who will run against Feinstein in primaries and general election. I've wrote to her saying that much.
It is pretty simple really, we have propaganda aimed at our own citizens primarily and at the citizens of allied countries in second guard. Those are the people that we need to control because they can affect change and we need their tacit approval. We don't care what the people, who cannot affect anything, think. Terrorists kill so few people that their negative impact is negligible, but their positive impact on propaganda aimed at our own population is huge. If we actually wanted to sell the terrorists themselves on something, we would have no problem with that and we often do just that if we need to get them to cause trouble for some foreign government.
Anyway, it all got to a point where our own propaganda has actually adversely affected the ability of our own people to perceive the situation in the world realistically. But what is more important, we have a whole new generation of policy makers and journalists who now believe the propaganda and think it is reality and start to make critical decisions based on it. This could cause problems going forward.
I give you that sure. Now when is US going to stop the annexation of Guantanamo Bay? And please, don't give me any of that crap you lawfully rent it from the Cubans against their will.:)
Yeah, the second URL was not supposed to be there, obviously, I had a different link, but I only noticed I pasted a wrong URL when I already posted the comment.

Short Circuit, but most of Europe knows it as: "No. 5 lives"

The most cases of it by far were in the 16th century. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/...
It went well into the 18th century. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/...
Rare cases went into the 19th century. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/...
As an intimidation technique it has been used by KKK (Christian organization) well into the 20th century.
We are separated from this practice by a single lifetime. People who lived at the time are still alive today.

This one is really funny... also #10 is actually how all push to start cars operate now :D

I mean, I don't see how there could be some class of Humans that would not be useless when compared to AI in a century or two.

Well, it bans UDP, because it loses packets. It bans the damn rm -rf command. It bans faulty disk drives. We could go on for a while.
