I think the main problem is that design leaves too little to the imagination. This, combined with much longer game-play and not much better stories means that things need to be drawn out for far too long.
In the older games, the character design needed to be minimal and thus you didn't notice how bloody silly it looked in the mind of the designers.
Trolling is when you provoke a large group of people with general offensive behaviour and/or opinions.
This is something entirely different, this is a methodical psychological attack on someone who just lost a relative.
I believe that 18 weeks of jail is not unreasonable in the states for doing the equivalent of kicking someone in the nuts when they have fallen over. While laughing. And filming it. And showing it to their friends.
That was actually one of the times where I've grown annoyed with XKCD.
This is the beginning of using a different types of retrovirus to cure deadly diseases.
That is the biggest breakthrough since penicillin.
Which, if you would like to be reminded, is putting mold into your body which is quite deadly and thus killing loads of germs, indiscriminatory. Which happen to save lives.
Relating the two products will dilute the name of kindle.
Expanding a name is very risky and you need to be very careful since people will still buy it to read on and will notice that it's garbage for it (too heavy, doesn't work in sunlight, needs to be recharged quite often).
In MMOs, it's really annoying when they actually lock content. What that means is that if you want to play a certain area with your friends and one of you doesn't own that area, he will be left out unless he buys it.
Makes a game become the lowest common denominator.
Blanket statements from a small selection is idiotic. Some of the very best movies and books are based around a mystery. If you know the mystery, the whole point is ruined.
If you already knew what the matrix was, what would be the point of the matrix first half? If you already knew who Kaiser Söze was, why would you listen to Lester for two hours? If you knew the plan and the villain and especially how it ends, would the watchmen have even a close to as deep an impact?
Not saying that this is always the case, but movies which are supposed to keep you guessing get really, really dull if you know the secret. That is also why so many mystery movies fail, you get the mystery before the characters and then it just gets boring since you got it in less then an hour and the supposidely smart protagonist don't get it for several days.
Foreshadowing is something different though. If, for example, you tell people that you will know who Kaiser Söze is and you will be amazed at how vicious the man is, it won't detract from the story at all. If you say that the matrix envelops all and that it will freak everyone out when they know what it is, it just sets the mood. Watchmen is so full of foreshadowing that it's almost silly to point it out.
It's good to hint to people that there is a deeper meaning and an interesting twist, this helps them focus more greatly on the story, not really because they know the twist, but because you tell them that it's a story worth focusing on and people are very trusting.
Since 5 ghz isn't as widely supported, this means that it will be 2.4 ghz with it's wonderful 3 clear channels. So this will only work decently if less than three of your neighbors have a WLAN of their own.
Now you assume that the signal is distributed over a circle, in most cases, the antennas aren't even close to 360 degrees, they are usually closer to 2 degrees.
So, no, it can reach way, way longer than that. Otoh, those ranges are without disturbances with low load.
If items are worth actual money, will Blizzard be liable if you through a bug lose your item? If you have bought an item and someone in some way steals from you, will you get your money back?
The main reason it's awful with touch interfaces is that you can't touch-type. Writing habits depend on how you sit and you can easily adapt between angles by tactile feedback.
So, get a functioning tactile response system which is morphic.
THEN, I'm sold.
At least if it flexes, if not, it's bad for your fingers.
I love my fiancee, but, I still acknowledge that our emotional responses to each other is a genetic byproduct of the necessity of mating being necessary for our long-time survival.
What lovebots (not sexbots) do is remove the need for very many of the unneccesary biological functions which complicate life to such a huge extent.
Reproduction will surely not be an issue, an artifical womb wouldn't be that hard and using genetic combinations could easily create children this far into the future.
And, yes, to create a good lovebot you would need a whole lot more knowledge about how the human body works than is available today. But, once we fully understand attraction and the chemicals involved, a lovebot could easily keep you fully in love at all times, it could also sexually stimulate you in ways which are so far beyond normal sex that it's not even comparable.
Also, remember, an advantage with a bot is the flexibility, there's nothing to say that these bots couldn't also work in normal relationships as well, once you start to break down love and pleasure, it's really just a recretaional activity that's just awesomely better than most other forms to most people. Having a human companion in your life and having sex-toys and emotional attachments is fully normal today, this wouldn't be much different.
The biggest difference would be that you wouldn't have to find a perfect partner to be fully satisfied, the shortcomings can be replaced by a robot.
Why would freedom be a necessity in an intelligent mind? If it's possible to program what stimulates it's pleasure, it's entirely possible to make it feel bliss to perform the most vile and repulsive acts you can think off.
PC was a trademark "invented" by IBM. Also, the concept wasn't just merely creating a computer for personal use, the concept was creating a modular computer.
So, yes, the invented the PC, they just didn't invent personal computing.
And, yes, the invention was primarily for marketing purposes, not for actual engineering.
True as well. Parents buying games for their kids or for the both of them is a valid reason as well.
Also, another reason is that you've grown up for real, meaning, you know that it's not mature to not do the things you like just because they aren't serious.

Duh.

This is what was done here.

One word.
Gnome-do.

Expanding a name is very risky and you need to be very careful since people will still buy it to read on and will notice that it's garbage for it (too heavy, doesn't work in sunlight, needs to be recharged quite often).
Poor decision.
In MMOs, it's really annoying when they actually lock content.
What that means is that if you want to play a certain area with your friends and one of you doesn't own that area, he will be left out unless he buys it.

Aka, boring.
Aliens where popsicles?
Ffs.
Stuff that matters?

Seriously, there might still be a small measure of sanity left in the world.
Seriously, this is so wrong.
This is the opposite effect of what should be happening.
This is insane.
Religions shouldn't get special treatment, it's moronic.
It may be bad.
But I feel good.

Without human inhibitions, all becomes possible.
Yes, great idea, instead of moving away from a wazte of resources, let's wazte permanent ones instead!
GREAT IDEA!

Appstore, app store.
Chromium PC Book
Chrome PC Book
SERIOUSLY?
Don't use an obvious name and try to make it a unique name.
This company wanted a name to sound as if they are the only legitimate reseller of chromium-based hardware and are pissed that google won't allow it.
Bloody hell.
USA has a broken system.
True as well.

This suggests that the game market today is most easily accessible and liked by a certain type of people who happens to be 37-41 years old.
My guess?
That's an age where you start to cut back hours on the job and start earning real money.
Buying a bunch of stuff which might be fun for a few hours is worth it then.
Extra heavy.
Only useful in the situations where you least need a laptop.
More fragile.
Why not just create a bloody bike-laptop which you have to cycle on to use.
Would be about as practical.
Dropping legacy support is not a very good thing to do when legacy means a couple of years.
