  1. Why not limit the vehicle instead of the road? on How To Build Roads To Control How Fast You Drive · · Score: 1

I love driving fast as much as the next guy but if the government really wants us to drive slower why doesn't it simply mandate speed limiting devices? Why is it legal to build cars that can drive 3x the maximum speed limit?

  7. Mac Mini + XBMC + iPhone XBMC Remote on What's the Best Way To Get Web Content To My TV? · · Score: 1

Transmission + Automatic automatically downloads my shows, XBMC automatically looks up their information and the iPhone XBMC app makes browsing and playing shows simply beautiful. As an added bonus I can use Air Video to watch the shows on my phone whether at home via WiFi or anywhere else via 3G. I don't watch much web video but Boxee is decent for that if necessary. Jaadu VNC for iPhone makes a great catch-all remote. iTunes and iPhone Remote for music.

What makes one worse than the other isn't the reach of the censorship but the type of information being censored. I hate Big Content as much as the next guy but I can much more easily accept that they want to stop what they perceive to be copyright violations globally than China's blocking of historical facts and muting of dissidents. Let's call a spade a spade here, at least in the US you can easily find out about the shitty things the US has done in the past.

Yep! Dunno if direct linking to torrents is allowed here but search torrentz.com and you'll find DVD screener rips already. That's not really my point though - point is theaters and merchandising will always be among the ways the studios can profit from their movies.
