    I can show you that my old Voodoo 3 is quite compareable to the Geforce 8800GTX when playing Quake at 640x480. Apparently, you can't even tell the difference between 330 and 1180 frames/sec. N00b.

    Guess what? We all know that. We've tried Eclipse and KDevelop and Glade all your other tools. You have pretty cool languages but you insist on keeping your barriers artificially high by forcing a primitive toolset on everyone so that only the anointed few can develop software for your platform. Fuck you. I'm taking my Snoopy calendar and leaving.

    They want to make us the consumables. Is it worth having a 42" plasma TV if you lose your soul? No. Plasmas burn and their colors suck almost as much as LCDs'; I would, however, lose my soul for a 42" CRT.

    Translation: The cell processor is horribly complicated to code for, and our internal developers are just now beginning to understand how to get a useful portion of that power out of it. We didn't learn anything from the stupid processor we put into the PS2. They're not thinking about the developers, developers, developers, developers! For once, monkey boy pays off!

    They already DID enter the hardware business with the XBox, and I have to admit: a sub-$200 P3-Celeron + GeForce 3 box is a darn good deal, as is a $400 Triple-core PPC and DX9.5 ATI chip. And yes, Linux runs on both, if you haven't heard.

    Every time a news of shooting breaks out, I always wonder why the possession of firearms is not banned entirely in this country. I am native of Japan, and where I grew up nobody but cops were allowed to carry guns. I live in New Jersey now, and I really miss a sense of security I used to have back home. You feel secure knowing that if a cop panics, you can't do shit?

    Vista, on the other hand, appears to let old games work just fine on a Limited account. Obviously, REALLY old games don't work at all, but Win98-era games work just fine again. I'm still waiting for a version of windows that'll run Mechwarrior 2.

    They've implemented a half-assed attempt at security. The entire concept of the Program Files and the Windows Registry negates any kind of protections on writing to the disk that they may have, because so much depends on the almighty Registry, and the almighty Program Files.

    The administrations who ban Wikipedia (and other online resources) on the basis of 'validity', are prejudiced. They think that anything in print is, somehow, magically endowed with veracity. So we'll just print Wikipedia into a book, and publish a new edition every year.

    That rule-of-thumb doesn't really work with Wikipedia, though, it's got way too much information in it. For example, did you know that the George Washington population has recently tripled in number?
