In all fairness though, at least the few decent games on the PS3 aren't all eventually released for the PC as well like anything on the 360 is. Wii FTW!

I bought a fifteen dollar keboard ten years ago and still use it as my primary typing instrument. It's the cheapest, most basic layout you could ever find. I went out of my way to find something that didn't have all kinds of hotkeys built into the top and an uncomfortable plastic wrist "rest" along the bottom (as I like my gel one just fine).

I wish we could stop hearing about streaming video. I like having my content conveniently on actual media that I can access instantly whenever I want without having to go through or ask anyone else. Most of the world doesn't even have broadband at all, which I think is a far more important problem than people not being able to download and redownload gigantic movie files because they've never heard of a disc binder.

It's a fun outlet, and it's cheaper than dinner and a movie once a month (and the damn babysitter, they are so expensive nowadays). Not if you have a $15 NetFlix account and learn to cook for yourself. You can get six films a week (three at a time) and then spend about $5 on any given meal for two. Much better meals with a much better atmosphere than any restaurant!

  19. Re:Maybe too late. Already weened. on Writers Strike Officially Over · · Score: 5, Insightful
I can relate, though oppositely. I hadn't had any television service for a few years (not even PBS!), but just recently obtained a cable connection to the world. It doesn't cost me anything, so I didn't see the harm. Now, however, I find myself and my loved ones watching television far too often. Most of the time is spent just idly looking for something to watch, or watching something that no one really cares about but isn't as mediocre as whatever else may be on. Before we used to watch a lot of films together, which felt a lot more gratifying and only happened two to fours hours a day. Now however, my Netflix subscription doesn't seem to matter as much since we don't watch a daily film or two.

Television is awful, and it continually spirals farther downward. And honestly, I never saw much of a difference between having writers and not having writers around.

Except all of those "indie" films with big actors are just as trite as Hollywood, but in an underground/indie vain. Instead of mindless action and explosions, you get so-called offbeat/quirky humor and sappy love stories. Those things are just as manufactured as one another. Real indie films would be Jackson's earlier work. Which was actually good. Go check out Dead Alive, if you need proof. He has dramatically gone down hill in doing his high fantasy trilogy and the seventeenth remake of King Kong.
