Music labels will take almost all of the money, then the publishers, then the performers, and last but not least, the songwriters. Any artist worth listening to is almost always both the songwriter and the performer.
Gibson should just release their own third-party guitar controller. I'm sure as fuck not paying $70 for Red Ocatane's, when it is essentially just a shell piggybacking on all of the Wii remote's functionality. Besides, I don't intend to give anymore money to a company that doesn't even try to appease its customers within reason. It took months for them just to get those overpriced guitars out, if nothing else. Nyko really screwed up by planning to release theirs in May instead of a few months ago. They would have made a killing.
Doom 3 was horribly boring, despite looking pretty.
Why not go back sometime and do Quake the way it was meant to be done? I'd love to see those Lovecraftian references fleshed out properly, along with gameplay mechanics that aren't just a "running short on development time, do it like DooM!" type of scenario.
RAGE might very well be great, if it does truly end up being the open-world game version of Mad Max. After what happened with Doom 3 and Quake IV (not quite Id's fault) however, I'm going to have to be won over. No more assuming greatness with Id games!
Battlebots was decent when it first came out on Comedy Central, but once they started replacing Bill Nye with porn stars, it was all down hill. I leaving that series the moment "Buddy Lee Don't Play in the Street" won a match. Now realize that this was simply a stuffed animal sitting in a remote controlled firetruck. It had no weapons at all and was torn to shred by the opposing robot, because it DID have a weapon. Watching that stupid thing win destroyed any remaining interest I had int he series. And that's not to mention the extreme boredom that became of it once everyone began using "wedge" bots.
Astrology is sort of a flawed mental shortcut for understanding the world, but so is disregarding someone because of their spiritual beliefs. No, it's not, especially when it comes to dating. Hell, you can disregard possible mates for even lesser thing than that! What about musical tastes? Spiritual beliefs (you know, like religion) are a perfectly valid point on which to disregard said persons, as that makes up quite a bit of who they are and how they think. Now, that said, I don't think anyone should worry about astrology. Most people don't believe in it per say, but instead find themselves casually indulging now and then. If you find someone who is really obsessive about their numbers and star alignment, then dump them, otherwise I wouldn't worry about them benignly perusing the horoscopes in the Sunday paper.
Instead, Sony made a more expensive system and clobbered Toshiba with marketing. What other strategy has Sony ever implored? Marketed lies seem to work well for Sony, which is probably the only reason they are still afloat after years and years of horrid products.
I say this as a disenchanted Dreamcast owner, not an angry HD-DVD enthusiast. Just so you know my bias.;)
I don't have to worry much about Google driving by and snapping photos of anything even remotely near me. Sure, the state forest nextdoor is picturesque and all, but I don't think that's what they're after.
This might just be reason #7,458 that living in the city blows.
Granted. However, that is also why I mention Requiem, as it makes a lot of the disciplines more socially relevant than they were in Masquerade and seems to promote characterization over hack 'n slash.
I'm not saying that D&D is a bad game by any means (though the system did ruin Call of Cthulhu for one edition!), just that the system feels too strict to really allow for a natural flow. Given the way most play it (simply to collect items), they might as well be at their PC with Diablo II.
I've always found that to be the problem with Dungeons & Dragons. It's not a game about interesting stories or characters, it's about leveling up and having the best gear. To me, that's boring. I can go do that in any RPG on the PC. Rifts always presented that problem as well, though at least had a slightly more interesting setting. For me, it doesn't get much better than White Wolf's World of Darkness, even the "New WoD". Vampire the Masquerade was always great if you preferred developing characters and twisting plots, and Vampire the Requiem put even more emphasis on that in many ways.
Precisely what happened to the Lone Gunmen series. Instead of having fairly serious, more "real world" conspiracies to deal with, they did almost nothing but silly and often times cheesy humor based plots.
Really though, Family Guy in and of itself is iffy. Sometimes it's pretty funny but more often than not it just feels slapped together. The innate randomness of the series makes sure that nothing ever really happens, and its reliance on topical humor and pop culture references ensure that any given episode will be completely irrelevant after a few years.
Well, from what I have heard (and I would like to emphasize this is just what I heard) quite a large number of recruits only join for lack of any other viable options in life. This is true. This is also why the large majority of recruits are some of the least educated, and come from lower class demographics. People that have a chance in life and plan to do something with themselves aren't as willing to give it away to line the pockets of politicians. It's ironic really, that they citizens most abused by the government are almost always the very ones tricked into defending it with their own blood.
It's pretty simple. Anyone that joins the armed forces doesn't think.
Last time I checked, it's my own government that distresses me and tries its best to keep me down. Never once has any Muslim extremist bothered me personally. The U.S. government does so every single day though.
Too bad property taxes in and of themselves are already a horrid affront to anyone that owns anything. Unless of course I'm the only one in the world that hates having to essentially pay rent on my own property (several hundred dollars a year is cheap even, when compared!) or have it taken away by the government for no good reason. Fixing one bad problem by applying another isn't necessarily a great solution.
I run an s-video cable out to my television for when I just can't be bothered to burn something onto DVD. Most any videocard nowadays seems to have s-video output.
Godzilla only serves as a warning of the hazards of nuclear fission gone awry, right?
To fight for net neutrality, I guess. Without piracy I'd never be able to use programs like Photoshop! :P
As if it matters what your fake guitar looks like...
The RIAA has a talent pool? Surprised me.

Why is this propaganda on Slashdot? Has it gone from news site to recruiting agency all of a sudden?
What?! Go listen to Revolver. Not everything the Beatles did were poppy love songs, especially their later work.

No cocktail of government issued drugs or ridiculous waters bill in sight!
Gee, thanks video games...
So that's what I've been saving up all of this Slashdot karma for?!

No one really cares.

Sounds like officially not existing would be to my benefit...
