  1. Re:So Flash is good now? on The Return of GPLFlash · · Score: 1

No, he means Flash. I'm a multimedia eLearning developer. We used to do everything in director (shockwave) but moved to flash a few years ago. Flash files tend to be smaller, actionscript has really matured over the last few releases, and our animators greatly prefer vector over bitmap grahics.

Nope, at least two of my coworkers (both young females for what it's worth) have never seen even one of the Star Wars movies. Our entire dept went to see the sith movie this morning and they said they were more or less able to follow what was happening since we filled them in while waiting in line. But we did catch one of them asleep during the movie.

But what about those of us that find that a cellphone is not a necessity? I don't want people to be able to call me whereever I am. If my work offered to get me a cell phone and pick up the monthly tab, I would tell them no (they're constantly asking me why I don't have one so they can get ahold of me when something goes wrong). I just don't want one.

Do you seriously not believe in legistlating morality? You don't believe that there should be laws against rape, murder, theft, fraud, abuse, etc.? Almost the entirety of criminal law is based on legislating morality, i.e., making laws about what is right and what is wrong. I guess the one upside of not legislating morality is that we would no longer have to fund prisons.

Come on, don't rely on the govt to take care of you. You need to take care of yourself. At a minimum you should have a supply of money and food set aside that can last you for a year. You lose your job? So what, you have a year to find a new one.

I'm a multimedia developer. I have great broadband at work. I have 56k at home. Frankly, I don't plan on switching to broadband any time soon. If the price was the same as dial-up then sure, I'd switch. But the extra 15-20 a month just isn't worth it for me.

The one area where 3D is actually useful is education, specifically for instructional simulations and/or models (strangely enough, the area of education is also the one area where Flash is actually useful). I break the application world up into 4 parts: instruction, recreation, information and utilities. 3D and Flash have some utility in the instruction and recreation arena but very little in the information and utility world (despite Macromedia's pushing Flash as a Web Application Tool).

is to use a combination of family, fan, whatever + cryptic. That is, Come up with a sentence such as "my 2nd Sister was Born on April 23rd" and then take the first letters/numbers of each word like this "m2SwBoA23" to create a cryptic password. This makes it easier to remember the password while also creating a mixed case and combo letter/number password. I've found that the key to remember which letters are uppercase is to make those words which are "more important". In this example I consider "Sister, Born, and April" to be of greater importance than "my, was, and on". Anyway, works for me!

You also wont be able to pick them up without first having a BA/BS in another field since almost all (and as far as I know, all) instructional psychology programs are graduate programs (i.e., M.S., Ph.D).
