I use Antec or Thermaltake, both are great. I don't know what GP is crying about.
Yet another case of "I got a defective unit, noone should buy this product" crap. Get warranty, if they keep failing, then start posting on slashdot with the facts, not "it's bad, buy what I've been told is good".
The only game I bought recently was Fable II on the 360, because I had to. Most of the games I buy for my PC are either via Steam, or other methods (I play LOTRO, the latest expansion was just me paying the upgrade fee and download). I don't see why consoles seem to see the need to lag behind. Sure I copy games for my console, mainly due to the price (AU$100+ for a new release) and also from the lack of ease of buying online.
I used to copy PC games, now I'm happy with a demo and digital delivery. I think the PC market has wised up to the way things ought to be. I bought Far Cry II days after it came out for 1/2 the price of the shops here in Australia. Even if price wasn't an issue, you have to pre-order, wait in line, all that kind of useless crap to say "I got a first copy". Why not give people the option of post-to with digital stop-gap a-la Warhammer Online (yes, I bought this from Amazon).
Even that seems smarter than this whole "you need to own the disc to own a license to our product" crap.
I say good on them, the more digital delivery, the more economical high volume high speed broadband (whatever the flavour) will become. The more music, movies & games delivered this way the better. It will force the hand that controls your packets.
Actually, if you know why they didn't even get to the review process you'd not think it so stupid.
Conroy has stated that Telstra basically wanted top level negotiations to start before the tender was even in place, and to do things the way Telstra wants, not the way the government process is. In essence it was a way for them to bypass the tender process and just get the deal.
Biofuels are no better than fossil fuels - same problem, same outcome. On top of this they are causing massive food issues thought developing countries. People are planting palm for palm oil production (I recently witnessed this first hand, oil palm crops as far as you can see) rather than for food crops. This is why rice is US$700 a tonne in Asia, and other basic staples are getting increasingly more expensive for the people really seeing the effects of global climate change destroy what little they've had.
We need better fuels - hydrogen, electric with sustainable charging, something like that is going to be better than any sort of "carbon fuel replacement". I think some of us are waking up to this huge issue, but the change needs to come from us as people, rather than through taxing or tax breaks.
I use a projector on a solid cement wall... maybe that's the answer for these people. At least it will cost Nintendo less to replace controllers than to replace LCD/Plasma TVs.
The whole shared cache thing kind of messes that up.
Either way, this is a retarded idea. If you want to game you want a gaming notebook, if you want energy efficiency, you get an ULV system.
Yes, I own 2 laptops (an EEE PC and a more gaming styled notebook), I'd never recommend a notebook with 3 GPUs to anyone. I can only imagine the compatibility issues that are going to arise from this.
His writing screams of anti-science and anti-freedom. It's all about "control and command"... Pretty much the usual shite you find in airport terminals.
A holiday novel if you will... exciting enough to enhance your holiday, but mundane enough to make your boring trip with the kids seem like a one night stand with a $20 000 hooker.
Where do you want someone to start with an answer to that?
Seriously though, this is what happens when you create a police state. This is no different to any other dictatorship where non-violent crimes (anti-government, anti-religion, etc) are punished with prolonged sentences or even death.
Seriously, wake up America, all this horseshit about peace, freedom, and democracy isn't even upheld in your own country. Do you really think the rest of the world are stupid enough to believe you can "bring freedom to the world"?
Do you really think that illegally accessing personal records is not "meaning harm"?
If you work for a government and you're doing something illegal it's never because you "didn't mean any harm", there's always a reason that's big enough to overrule the desire not to be caught and strung from the closest tree.
My Asus EEEPC with EEE Ubuntu boots in almost no time. I've never used a stop watch, so I don't have any number to spout out, but I've never had a Windows or Mac OS machine boot that quick.
Don't know why you've been modded flamebait (I'd change it if I had points), what you say is correct.
At my peak of Eve I was able to afford anything I wanted, making billions a week from plexing and moon mining. Now I've rolled my time back, I can play every so often, lose a ship or two with the confidence I'll be able to make cash via ETC trading. One or two every so often keeps me in T2 ships, battleships and battlecruisers for weeks.
Well, if you knowingly allowed someone to transport stolen goods on public transport you'd be liable as the operator (depending on how high up it went). Unfortunately audio/video files aren't really that tangible, and the network operators "should" be able to know what's going on.
It's more of an ethical victory rather than a victory of common sense - to monitor and block users traffic really sits on the edge of being ethically "good".
I do see this as a nice stab in the eye of the MaFIA, but it really is only that. They'll heal and come back with more gusto next time, they've got more money than any ISP has, so really it's not a case of IF they can get this kind of crap to fly, but merely WHEN.
If I had mod points... *shakes fist*
You pretty much hit the nail on the head.
If you count the Nokia phones as smartphones (N95), they won't charge via USB.
It's why I went to the iPhone 3G.

I say tough shit Telstra.

The turn of phrase is to "toe the line"... come forth and be a part of.

I don't know who's sadder, the plagiarist or the tard who came up with this crap.
Bad writer, not missed... I don't wish his death, he just eats balls as a writer.
Important?
Hah

To me, I am still bewildered by why this is news that matters... unless we should all be happy the fuck is dead.
Long live NON BORING BOOKS!
Eve only charges the first month's fee as your account activation after the 14 day trial. So there's at least one of them doing it.
LOTRO is 1 month free + activation for US$25, so not so bad. I just went with the founders club and never have to pay again for access.
It truly is a sign of the apocalypse.
Microsoft being "un-evil" and Google eviling it up.
I'm not surprised - it's why they have operating temperatures specified as a LOW and high.
You sure she's not a Kiwi who lives in Melbourne? There's a lot of them here. :D
And we stopped being a "colony" as of Federation... 1901

Indeed we do.
If it's not jacked up on Steam, it's completely barred.
Are you that naive?
Do you really think that illegally accessing personal records is not "meaning harm"?

Are you sure about that last bit?
I feel that WoW's graphics are immature too, so to myself it's not flamebait... LOTRO and Eve (which is older than WoW) are much more sophisticated.
I used to play WoW, gave up after the community turned nasty, the graphics certainly weren't what kept me playing.

I did want one... but now, if Oprah likes it, well... I'll pass.
