A "subtle" difference is also that demonoid never was taken down because of the pressure on the admin (as I've understood it) but because the host didn't want demonoid on their servers anymore.
Since then deimos have said that it probably would come back as he never had a problem with having the site.
Reading a little more of the forum confirms my theory about it mostly being the Refresh RC 2 ("Which should be the same as the RTM").
I havn't found a single thread about someone saying anything about windows update.
Well.
If you read the first forum post that person states that he used the Refresh RC...
And my windows update doesn't tell me anything about any updates.
If it's one of those preSP updates I can understand, but why doesn't you say so then...
Well. First time I've heard of "Vienna" as it was named all over the net when the buzz began it would be an update to vista. I've not heard anything about it since the first buzz.
So either that's still the plan. Or they've listened to the critique of Vista and therefore don't want the new OS to be linked to Vista and therefore calling it a new OS now...
they didn't get it with MiniDisc
What's wrong with MiniDisc? Before the advent of mp3-players MiniDisc was the way to to for either the ones with style (who didn't want to run around with a large "portable" CD-player) or the amateur artists (easy digital recording options).
All the siblings in my family (from my 9 year older sister down to me) have had a minidisc (and my sister still uses it for easy piano recording).
The thing that actually killed MiniDisc was the late adoption of native mp3 playback on Hi-MD's though... A great mistake by Sony.
Hmm, according to the article the culprit is "HP Software Updates", a program I unistalled long ago and I think many else have uninstalled too (or not installed after a clean install). So say "most" feels a little wrong to me...
Hmm, the article doesn't mention anything about tracking chips. Just chips...
So maybe they talking chips which track "drug" use and report to a computer now and then.
"lacks the collaborative or document-sharing features of competitors like Google Docs or even Microsoft's Office Live Workspace."
(Emphasis mine)
Please, does the microsoft dislike even creep in here? I see no actual reason to have a even there. (Or is there a reason? Is Office Live Workspace really that bad?)

Nice little wievpoint you got there... I have to disagree though. Labview isn't realy the most user friendly programming language...

Well. I have English (US) and no IMAP options. So it's probably not only that right now.
behave almost exactly like XP with the exception of admin tasks which most companies don't want the normal employee to do such as installing/removing software.
Ehm, what?
Even when I have worked as a summer worker they have given me administrative privileges on the computer so I can install any software I'll need to to the work. Running to the IT manager and asking him for help every time I needed to install a new program would been a pain.
I have never used linux but I have got the impression that it's a little harder to install and unistall programs. So it would probably be confusing to the users. And if anyone would do like you (lock installing and uninstalling) then I would feel sorry for the IT managers having to run here and there just to install another program...
Well. They still need to make "different" phones as the GSM frequencies change from country to country sometimes too.
To quote wikipedia:
"Most GSM networks operate in the 900 MHz or 1800 MHz bands. Some countries in the Americas (including Canada and the United States) use the 850 MHz and 1900 MHz bands because the 900 and 1800 MHz frequency bands were already allocated."
So the tripleband phones that are to "work in the whole world" actually works worse in the countries with the "other two bands" as they often only can use one of the frequencies.
Well...
I just read the strip on gocomics (actually I read it in thunderbird with help from isnoop.net's comic strip snagger http://isnoop.net/comics/ but that's not so important).
So I'd say I had to do the least job so far (not having to find it otherwhere and missing it.)
=)
With the risk to be modded flamebait and/or troll I'd say that the survey was in USA only.
Mostly because here in Europe and especially here in Sweden they are really expensive.
With a price of $860 (cheapest price) they have to make the potential buyers aware of EVERY function... if not, I don't think people really would buy one.
Sierra (or Vivendi really) released their old "Quest"es some while ago and they at least got that with dosbox and source right if I remember right (even though they never asked for permission or told the creators of dosbox either...)
The dosbox copyright notice on the backside makes me smile, mostly because how a open source program helps a commercial company, a success if you ask me.
Well. He knew one of the persons involved (he lives in jönköping/huskvarna) and thought: "what the hell, if they don't deliver I'll call my acquaintance"
I wish I knew one of them too, it would give a little of security at least =)
Well. My problem is that they just don't seem to concentrate on things that need to be brought out of beta(some just need to be rid of the beta tag IMO).
And you do realize that some of those services never was betas at all but bought and brought under the google "name",(Like blogger, picasa, with more.) So they don't really count as finished(as in "to finish") google product IMO.
Woo, another beta... yaaay...
Couldn't google make something that actually evolves out of the beta? I mean Gmail is STILL in beta according to the logo... 3 years of beta "testing"? Isn't that enough?

I see what you did there...
And I can agree with you partly. But for those who really needs a windows installation and is stuck with vista I think this one is better: http://neosmart.net/blog/2008/windows-vista-recovery-disc-download/

My error.
After thinking about it and making a search I realized I'm talking about Fiji... some codename that was never really clearly stated.
(but what I know maybe Fiji turned into Vienna at some point).

They only sell linux certified (whatever that means) computers http://h71028.www7.hp.com/enterprise/cache/317386
But hey, that's a step at least.

Ah, I remebered that game. I loved it (because of the puzzles) and hated it (because if one died you had to restart)
Let's hope we get a Viking hero named Erik or Olav (or what the last one was named) in SC2 =)
The question is... what is the cause and what is the effect...

I actually met a person at work today who knew one involved. (And I live in Jönköping Sweden)... so...
