Thats all I'm going to say and hopefully I don't start another Linux vs Microsoft thing. Hopefully you do...and maybe, eventauly, some people will start to get the message and reconsider wasting all there money on rubbish software
Do you either drink ur coffee very quickly or are you using...*cough* windows...
personaly, and maybe this isnt a good thing, i dont have time to go get coffee, but my mac wakes up in about 2 secs at most...last time i restarted was for a system update a few weeks ago...
no with a huge beige (or black, for extreme people) box and a 17" monitor, and a keyboard under there arm and a mouse in there mouth trying to run down the street...im thinking a laptop sounds like a good idea now...
and really, assuming they didnt write it in 50pt text, what did they write for 49 pages...the one paragraph at the top of the story compleatly sum's up what google said, plus the respone...
Indeed windows isnt at all like that...it used by people who are unaware of choice, and when you stick it in there face run away in fear...i have a friend who is going to buy a mac, but just run windows on it...because it what he knows...i wouldnt be suprised in after the 10 mins needed to learn osx he will regret spending hours trying to learn how to install windows...
Yea, its sad because it is possible to pay people so little...it would never be cheaper to do in america because you would have to pay people a real wage, these people probably live of less than $100 a month...probably alot less
also, yea it give the person a job, but what kinda life is it to spend all day everyday sticking some component on a board so that some rich american can spend all day playing counter strike
but what you all forget is that all you really need to do is click with two fingers on the trackpad for second click...and you might say no good for gaming, but lets face it, a trackpad is no good for gaming...
and perhaps half will click on an ad. no no no...perhaps none of them will click an ad...not only do i know i have never clicked on an ad, nor have most people i know, i have also tried putting ad's on websites with not many visiters, you never get hits
Now, im not american, so maybe i dont get this, but what is the point of a standerds institute if it starts to list standerds after they have become standerd. the artical talks about, some old, formats already in use for years as standerds, HTML, RTf. With the exception of ODf, which is still up and coming, this would seem to be a waste of a log time, and proberbly, money
For example, the Dock is an awful piece of software, but it demos well, so Apple keeps it. I suspect that the Finder and Spotlight also look nice in the store, even if they are suboptimal for actual use. The dock rocks...so much better than the taskbar's of windows and gnome, combined with expose provides a much better way of switching better app's and is much nicer that the never ending folders of folders in start menu and similar...
again, spotlight, the first of its kind build right in, dont need it all the time, but works very well when you do
many comments above about windows, how horrible it is...linux...how much better it is...but you have all missed another great option, mac osx...a beautiful, easy to use and maintain os...im not saying its the be all and end all, i also use ubuntu, and like it very much, find it very easy to use, much easyier than windows...but i love my macbook, its the most beautiful os and very nice to use, very easy to install software, unfortunatly updating software is mostly done program to program, but at least all apple stuff is done together, and rerely restarts...my mac hasnt restarted since the update to 10.4.9 about a month ago...

surely if price per gb is more important so new fancy lazer thing is going to be far more expensive than good old flash memory
Hard Disks are old news...no one is going to be using them in 5 years, let alone 10...flash is so the way forward

the more important point...living off less than $500? would you be happy with that much money?
