I use a Shuttle XPC sk41g with an Amd Athlon 2400+ with Showshifter as the PVR software. It works great and is very Quiet. I can't hear it unless I am within a couple inches of the box. SHuttle uses a very large heat pipe with only one fan (variable speed user set-able).
The Xbox would be closer to a Moderate Success. Also I am not so sure the Piracy level is that high. It seems as though a large percentage of people are modding their Xboxs for non-gaming purposes. But even if that's not the true, I was really pointing out that Piracy may be helping to add to the success of many systems. Not That Piracy guarantees success.
Gameboy / GBA - Piracy High - Success High Play Station - Piracy High - Success High N64 - Piracy low - Success Low Play Station 2 - Piracy High - Success High GameCube - Piracy none - Success Low
That may not say Everything, But it sure says Something.
Actually lowering the price of the Console will likely Increase Piracy. Here In Thailand an XBOX game (copied) cost about US$2.50 the Console (modded) cost over US$350.,thats about what I pay for about four months rent. This is out of the reach of most Thais. If MS lowers the price of the XBOX to where more people can affored it here, then more people will be buying copied games.
When you think of Asia you are probably thinking that includes Japan. Businesses generaly concider Japan and the rest of Asia as two different regions. Also it seems likely that they mean "Legal Video-Game Market". So assuming those two statements are true, You basically have South Korea Buying legal games and the rest of Asia not contributing very much. To back this statement up, I live in Thailand and I can tell you plenty of places to buy Copied games, But I haven't seen a single place that sells legal console games. So yes Asia has a Large Video game Market, But No there isn't a large Legal Video Game Market.
I have a laptop with a PII 233 64MB. I Have it set to Dual Boot Win2k and Debian. Win2k Runs Smoother than Debian if I use KDE. If I use a Lighter GUI they are about the same. 800mhz is plenty for non-game usage with either OS.
I laughed when I saw the Image. So I figured there must be something Wrong with me, so I took your advice and went to see a lawyer. And He said "What the hell you bothering me for? go see a shrink"
I own a Tivo and 2 ReplayTvs They are great Machines. About a Year and a half ago I moved to Thailand and had to come up with a PC based alternative. I Found that most programs out there were very light on features except Showshifter. Showshifter works an ir Blaster (RedRat) to control my Sat Box. It recompresses my shows to divx after it records them (there are other formats to choose from). The best part was I built everything using 3 year old parts (except for the RedRat) that I had lying around (PIII667, ATi AIW). Total cost 70$.
IRS: You left this line blank. Are you trying to tell us that you have not made any out of state Purchases?
.. what?? I said I didn't make any out of state purchases.. !
Consumer: Yes.
IRS: Can you show us your out of state reciepts to prove your claim.
Consumer: Uhh
IRS: Damn that usually works.

Did you notice the word "Reviewed" in the headline ??
Just because you have sex with 12 year old boys doesn't mean it's legal.
