    Uh. No. In 1996 FireWire was at 393 Mbit/sec (S400 standard). USB 3 seems like it will be plenty faster. There is more than jus speed advantage, though. FireWire likes to change plugs at every new generation. USB does not.

    I too, found it interesting. But anyone who has read "Prey", by Michael Crichton (God rest his soul) knows that we are now one step closer to being mimicked and destroyed by swarms miniature robots with swarm intelligence.

    Here's one measure of "readiness" to be president: The ability to face the press. Where is Palin on the Sunday talk shows? She is missing (we do not see Obama hiding from the press).

    The fact that Obama-supporting talk shows don't want to allow her the opportunity isn't really her fault. http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/washington/2008/09/sarah-palin-opr.html Yet another attempt of the Liberal mainstream "press" trying to blot out a conservative candidate. Even Fox News is interviewing Obama...

    There will always be some that complain no matter what, but it's not the majority. Once again though, the AF takes care of its people. They know that well-rested people do a better job at work. And I've been to the exchange--by American standards it's hardly a mall and calling it that gives a completely wrong picture to those who have never been there. It sounds like you may be a little bitter about being assigned at a more forward location instead of Al Udied. I do however think your /. user name is cool. :-)

    Sorry, but that's just falsehoods. I stayed at the barracks in Qatar and Balad, Iraq. Saying they're resorts is ludicrous. The AF does, however, take better care of its people. There's nothing wrong with that.
