What is this fear some of you right wing Americans have of communists. Its as if they will sneak in while you are not looking or something? Its all a bit silly.

The people that you really have to fear from are the ones that do not hide. The ones that proudly state their hatred.

In the free market monopolies can only maintain themselves only for as long as they provide the best service for the lower price. Raise prices after dumping the competition and new competition will take you on that bid. As long as the market remains free of hindrances and regulations, including 'anti-trust agencies'.

After you have driven a few start-ups out of business what sane investor would put money into a start up that is going to be just driven out of business?

This gets paraded around but the only examples I have actually seen are in arbitration courts (NOT criminal courts) where both agree to use a common system for solving disputes. If one party doesn't want it they don't use it. Orthodox Jews sometimes use rabbis to settle disputes as well, and evangelicals sometimes use priests. Its just a useful way of solving disputes.

I have never seen anything like that being brought up in any criminal court as it simply stupid, and will be thrown out by the judge.

Ok - ACORN is the victim of fraud here - some of its contractors were trying to rip it off by sending in false voter registration to get paid without doing any work. On top of that ACORN flagged most of them as suspicious. So you cannot claim this is an ACORN conspiracy when its a simple contracting fraud. Finally ACRON is not the democratic party. Both parties try and suck up to it from time to time when it suits them.

But on the more broader point - I think people need to have a real conversation about entitlement - what does each human being deserve, just for being born?

As for the meat of the argument - free internet would encourage economic activity (the same way roads encourage economic activity) that benefits society and so I would justify it as a collective expense (ie taxpayer funded).
