No offense but the opinion of someone who owns a PS3 for a purpose other than gaming is worthless as far as I'm concerned. The PS3 is a BluRay player first and a game player second...that's what the 360 is for. I currently own one PS3 game but have approximately 20 movies.

It's a fad plain and simple...fads can last several years. The wiimote is a gimmick and the game selection is incredibly small.

"While the first Xbox's graphics processing unit was produced by NVIDIA, the Xbox 360 uses a chip designed by ATI called Xenos. The chip was developed under the name "C1" and "R500" was often used to refer to it.[2] The GPU package contains two separate silicon dies, each on a 90 nm chip with a clock speed of 500 MHz; the GPU proper, manufactured by TSMC and a 10 MB eDRAM daughter-die, manufactured by NEC. Thanks to the daughter die, the Xenos can do 4x FSAA, z-buffering, and alpha blending with no appreciable performance penalty on the GPU.[3] The GPU also houses additional capabilities typically separated into a motherboard chipset in PC systems, effectively replacing the northbridge chip. An aluminum heat sink was implemented to cool the GPU in systems manufactured prior to the second half of 2007; after this time, the GPU heatsink was revised in order to better move heat away from the GPU die. The new heatsink is made from a different materials and is connected to a new secondary heatsink (located in front of the CPU heatsink, to the right of the DVD drive) via a copper heatpipe."
To suggest that Windows or Mac users shouldn't benefit from Open Source just because their OS isn't Open Source is just plain loopy. So you're logic is that because I paid for the OS, or in my case, my work provides it for me I should then have to go out and pay for everything else?
I'll inform my boss that we should abandon Java and Netbeans tomorrow because we're paying for Windows. According to you it makes no sense to use free software so we should go out and pay for a closed source language and IDE.

..in video game forums but NOTHING in this blog is even remotely new news. This is all well known and well documented. I'm a first gen 360 owner who bought an external fan day one and who has been fortunate to have had no problems so far. Reliability has been the one key issue with the 360 which is very unfortunate because it is hands down the best console of this generation in terms of its library.
I wasn't aware that MS made notebooks. I'm also highly skeptical of your claim seeing as there are numerous PC notebooks that come with considerably faster GPU's than any Apple notebook so I'd be curious as to what they were testing when they made that claim.
A Native American Indian. That's about as silly as saying an African American N*****.
News flash for you. Christianity came over with the European settlers. Creationism dates back to the Bible itself and earlier. I sure hope you're not giving credit to America for inventing Creationism seeing as it is rooted in the New and Old Testament which clearly predates not only America but most of the civilizations that colonized America.
Did it ever occur to you that I might be an African American? Or perhaps an Asian American? Spare me the history lesson that might come off as being intelligent to a naive high schooler who is easily impressed with pseudo-intellectual liberal attacks on the US and the West.
Americans invented Christianity? Really?!?!? The amazing things you can learn on Slashdot. All this time I thought Christianity was being practiced in Europe for centuries before the New World was discovered and explored.
During NBC's broadcast they pointed out that the fireworks were in fact, using their own words, an "animation".
Does anyone even bother to check the facts before they write an article these days?

...they described Bluray as being "somewhat better"???
Just more proof that the human race is comprised mostly of morons.
a nonsensical lawsuit to begin with.
...that nuclear power is being compared to perpetual motion.
Yeah because DARPA is a part of the infrantry.

Probably because PS3 owners bought the console for Bluray where as anyone interested in gaming bought a 360.
The Wii is not for gamers. Instead it appeals to those who are into fads.
...you'd think their politicians would have a bit more experience at lying.

It uses an ATI GPU.
This article = epic fail
Your post is hardly insightful.

Actually Tiger Woods is at least 50% asian since his mom is full bloodied Thai.
But in America he's African American and not Asian American.
This post reminds me of an old saying....opinions are like assholes...everyone's got one and they stink like shit.
Who ever modded it insightful needs to have their heads examined.
...still the best player and value out there.
I have a 500 gig drive that is nearly full and starting next month I will be filling up a terrabyte with DVD data.
;)
My notebook has a 120 gig drive and between games, development data and multimedia it's almost full.
In other words there is a market for a measly 160gigs!
...those same Democrats are completely ignoring any and all activity outside of the U.S.

The Mac Mini is priced right but its integrated graphics leaves a lot to be desired if you're a gamer AND an owner of a 30" monitor.
The Mac Pro's ridiculous specs are only matched by its ridiculous price.
The iMac has all the features I want but comes with a display I neither need nor want to pay for.
Where is the $1500 Mac that comes without a display but has a decent GPU? Either they need a beefed up Mac Mini or a toned down Mac Pro?
If Apple solved this problem I'm in bigtime.
I think it speaks volumes about Slashdot when a post like this is modded a Troll.
