Why do we even care? Will more women in CS somehow result in finding an algorithm that beats Quicksort? The Halting problem will become decidable? C won't be a POS language?

When you consider Avatar has an advertising budget of something like $100 million I'd say the Army had found a cheap and effective way of getting their name out there.

You're joking right? I just priced out a dell XPS 16 with BETTER hardware specs and it was almost 50% the price of the comparable MacBook. You must be one of these people that just thinks it's a coincidence that practically EVERYONE believes that Macs are overpriced. I guess the computing world is all drinking the same koolaid.
1K for customer service? No offense but you give the average mac owner waaaaaaaaaay too much credit if you think they sat down and weighed the customer support of their choices. Like most things it boils down to what looks nice and what's hip at the moment.
