  2. Re:Homeland Security != Information Security on 800 Break-ins at Dept. of Homeland Security · · Score: 0

    As much as we'd like to think that, from what it seems, they probably don't have much say in anything. The position is more about popularity and showing that we do have a DHS department, even if it doesn't show much momentum.

    I have yet to see anything useful come out of DHS than political banter.

  3. Too bad.. on Volunteer to Simulate a Mars Mission for the ESA · · Score: 1, Interesting

    17 months still won't simulate their worst obstacles. Radiation and extreme conditions are still factors that are keeping them from going there at the moment. I doubt that controlling the spacecraft and living conditions will vary much from current space station accomodations.

  5. Price.. on Dell Refuses to Sell Ubuntu to Business · · Score: 1, Insightful

    It isn't really a huge price difference between XP and Linux after buying it from Dell anyway. I'm guessing the businesses have the option to purchase larger support options, and they don't want to have to deal with that at the moment. Plus, there's probably a pact between them and Microsoft, when it comes to mass orders from businesses.

    Ya never know. That is strange though.

  9. Ebay/Google on eBay Pulls Google Ads Over Marketing Stunt · · Score: 0, Redundant

    I would think that EBay was independent enough for people to know the name and use them without the use of Google or any other advertisement (aside from television). I think that once you're at a certain level, it's all top-of-mind-awareness, wouldn't you think?

    Needless to say, I think they're probably making the right decision by ending whatever advertisement relationship they hold with them. It's only going to save them money and look better on paper.

  10. Statistics on How Long Could You Live Without Your Gadgets? · · Score: 1, Interesting

    I wonder what the statistics are for people who don't actually have any "gadgets" when dealing with things they can't be away from.

    I'm guessing that everyone has about 3 or more things they wouldn't be able to go without doing, regardless of their genre. I'm sure some people couldn't go without cleaning religiously or without sewing or buying clothes.

    I'd also like to see the correlation of the abscence of gadgets vs. OCD.

    I know it's daily government behavior, and there's probably lots more examples of it... but, it's still funny.

These proposals were proposed as a proposition to anti-proposialism, not censorship.
