  1. Re:City states on Nissan Unveils All-Electric LEAF · · Score: 1

However, people who live in land scarce city states generally don't get access to their own garages. One major hurdle to overcome would be placing the charging outlets at shared car parks - EV taxes to pay for the construction and maintenance of common charging outlets, charge cost metering, and replacement of vandalized outlets are some of the problems that add up to the cost of ownership of such vehicles.

The cost of a Toyota Prius in Singapore is already almost SGD$100 000 (approx. USD$69 000, or 3 times the US list price). I can't see the Leaf being adopted on a large scale by the pragmatic citizens in Singapore unless its overall cost of ownership is equal to or lower than conventional vehicles.

Yes, but this device doesn't have to and should not be mutually exclusive from other interfaces like the Wii.

But an 8 year old that types "pussy" into google? That's different. Wow, never tried that search. First forty-five links are to porn sites, and then you get a link for the "Pussy Cats" CD by Harry Nilsson. You're still not out of the woods (or bushes as it were) as there are then another ten porn links until you get Pussy, France.
My hypothetical 8 year old kid will not find out what a Pussy is through Google. And I certainly hope that my hypothetical kid will not take Google's "Try different keywords" suggestion and do follow-up searches.

immoral of the story: If you are an 8 year old searching for some inkling of pr0n, forget about figurative speech and go straight for the scientific terms.

The "true peak time" isn't listed exactly on the articles because it is very difficult to predict exactly when you'll get a dramatic increase of meteors. I remember a couple of years ago when they predicted a Leonids meteor storm to occur near midnight of +8GMT, and it didn't happen; apparently the pile of space dirt got blown off course by the solar wind and the Leonids peak actually happened in the daytime where I lived.

For global viewers, just pick a time when the constellation Lyra is up in the sky, and for easiest viewing, when the moon hasn't risen. Try Stellarium http://www.stellarium.org/ to find your best time. If you are able to view it after midnight, all the better as that's when the most meteors will be directly slamming into the atmosphere overhead.
