    How many times is HALO MMO going to be attempted and fail?

    Oh man I can't help but laugh.
    If I remember correctly, I'm pretty sure the original halo was supposed to be an MMO and spent years in development.

    It was only after some time that they scrapped the idea for console instead.

    The same way the RIAA sues people for filesharing.. subpoena for their IP ..etc
    I'll concede if you're tech savvy and diligent enough it's probably possible to avoid detection, but you've gotta really have it out for someone.

    If you create an account and impersonate somebody to tarnish their image, you'll be sued. And you'll lose.

    It's a pretty cut and dry case of libel, so good luck with that.

    People have been egotistical for as long as they've had an ego.

    Pet rock was something different altogether, and relied heavily on the marketing team.
    (At least, I assume it was marketing. Pet rocks were before my time)

    Great, original ideas can be worth money and take very little work to produce.

    Go online. Search for some of your local college websites, or perhaps just some colleges with reputable CS programs.
    Go to their CS department pages, and search for their introductory CS courses.

    Look at the books that they're using!
    Take note of 4 or 5, then go to a library or bookstore or something and browse through the titles you can find.

    Judge how well each book tackles the material and then pick one.

    The flash is used for dynamic graphical assembly of user objects and provides an interactive interface with those objects.
    The rest of the site will be devoid of flash; it sounds like this decoupling is the way to go, along with making the user explicitly aware that they've been directed to a flash only section of the site.

    With all of these flash security and OS incompatibility issues surfacing on /. it makes me wonder.

    Do you guys explicitly avoid all sites with functionality contingent on the flash player, or are there appeasements that I could make?

    Adobe has definitely screwed up in some places, but it's not all bad. Flex provides a very nice web application interface for coding that I've been learning in my spare time, and silverlight isn't quite as far along.

    Hopefully I'm not going in the wrong direction here w/ adobe.
    Mod me off topic if you must, I've been putting tons of time into flex and I have karma to burn =/

    Don't you think it's more likely that the iphone will be forced to adopt flash, rather than an entirely new flash player being develop from scratch just to cater to a single mobile unit .. ?

    You may like your iphone but it's not the end-all, be-all of mobile web delivery and eventually will be outdated just like everything else.

    All it's going to take is a few high profile cell phones to offer flash compatibility and apple's hand will be forced. I'm convinced the only reason this hasn't happened yet is that once all the flash games are available online for free via cell phones nobody is going to be strong armed into paying $5 for tetris anymore ..etc

    Regardless, it's inevitable that cell phones will start offering the flash player if you look at the trends. They are becoming more and more synonymous with traditional browsers and desktop functionality. And once that box is opened then all of the other companies will be forced to follow suite.
