    The operative term in your statement being "seem like". I could paraphrase any book in the library. When you read sequential chapters with subjects that follow sequence right down to the sentence, it becomes more visible Not everyone reads with comprehension. His references (if we stretched to call them that) are as obvious as an NBA star in a room full of dwarves. It's clear he's paraphrasing Mitnick from start to at least the middle where I stopped.

    It seems like a rehash of every security book to come before it. I feel like i'm practically lip-syncing Kevin Mitnick's book "the art of deception".

    but why are computers with such vital responsibility not shielded? why are the users permitted to surf the web? why doesnt the state provide some sort of spam remediation or other countermeasure? when i was in managed support, we prevented people who werent administrators of the domain from using the internet for anything but email, and we did not allow HTML in our emails. all this robust content is rippling with risk.

    some people well versed on this subject come in because i'm flying blind. To the best of my knowledge, the suits against it are fighting on behalf of preventing a regulated internet. Let me know how wrong i am so i can start to "get it"

    this sounds good on paper if you can get the plants a: close enough to all passengers one at a time, and b: able to have a short enough range not to detect false positives. for lack of a funnier reference, remember the movie Airplane where the army guys with big guns all walked on board the plane and the little old lady got the bum's rush? we dont need the TSAs doing a michael jackson on every other 6 year old kid when someone who caused the plant's response is already 100yds away.

    god help me im using a 20 year old pop-culture example but some savants can just count cards. they can just group a large array and analyze all available outcomes in a glance. it happens. you can no better punish them for this than you can punish a person in a wheelchair for not bumping their heads on low-overhangs that would foul a person of 5feet.

    The kid may be a savant. I am Aspie and I have some analytical abilities i cannot test to demonstrate nor explain. If this kid's entire world is interrupted because of this, I hope Gloria Allred sues and gets his mother 100million!!

    apparently they know NOTHING about autism (Despite claims that Gates is an Aspie). Emotionally disturbed children have an immovable moral compass. Wrong is just wrong. there is no "but you'd get a million dollars" type exceptions on their minds. wrong remains wrong. I hope Microsoft loses billions.

    i fought the trend.. i didnt have a fb account until 2007. it eventually roped me in. Now I'm suceptible to the whims of that wealthy bahstahd. he hasnt bought out slashdot yet has he? (since im calling him a bahstahd)
