It's fairly extensive, and also works with Functional languages. It also highlights how much code looks similar, and highlights the pieces of code in question.

I think those are the concrete benefits such a technology will provide. Especially the speed.

Dyou have a PAL VHS player or does your VHS player play PAL format tapes. Cos your in the US which uses NTSC I seriously doubt it, and most people who can pick up Channel 4 are I believe in europe, so you wouldn't be able to play the VHS tapes anyway. Just read the transcripts. From the previous Christmas lectures I've seen, they've been dumbed down to make it easy for everyone to understand, and usually don't contain much stuff that people who already follow the field don't already know

I think all bollywood movies are actually region free. Some of these are even distributed by companies such as Sony Entertainment, and distributors don't get much bigger than that. The distributors don't mind as long as they get the sales, because the production company decides release schedules, and in the case of small film companies, it's the companies themselves.

  12. Why not just have both? on Why Are Binaries And Screenshots Good Things? · · Score: 1

Is there any problem with releasing both. I'm sure most people would like to try something before they decide to contribute. I personally find it a lot easier using precompiled binaries. Isn't the software there for both contributors and the public. What's the point in making software, if only a few contributors are going to use it? Precompiled binaries are also a lot easier for newbies, and could introduce more people into contributing to the development of the software.

I think one of the biggest changes in law to affect the UK economy will be the RIP bill, how a thing like that ever got passed is beyond me. There are still not enough safeguards in place, but because the Computing community as a general is not publicised in the UK much, I never even heard about the RIP bill in any of the newspapers or on TV, only the Internet. Yet it's something that is going to affect everyone in the UK and a lot of people in other countries, who do business with British companies, or are based in the UK.

The original post refers to an Omnipoint phone, which is therefore GSM. There are various models of Nokia 51xx series of phones which take sim cards, including the 5146(which I have previously owned). The majority of Nokia phones are GSM, and so take Sim Cards. A quick browse on the Nokia site will bring up all the phones in the 51xx series which take sim cards (majority).

  21. Re:The problem with Cellphones comparisons is: on Where Can I Find Cell Phone Recommendations? · · Score: 1

The reason you had 50 more places in memory, was probably because of the sim card you had, not the phone memory itself.
Different networks each have their own sim card, which can have varying amounts of name and number storage capacity.
Also the phones can have different model numbers, because the network may run on a different frequency to that of the others, and hence be a different phone.(i.e. GSM900 and GSM1800)
