I've already swiped my credit card while the clerk is still scanning the first item. When they finish scanning everything, I might not even have to sign the screen (for a small enough transaction). For cash, you can't do anything until you get the total.
Grrrrrrr. Then you get those people that write checks. And wait until the transaction is almost complete to fill out the check information.
Really?
You couldn't fill out the date and store name while you were waiting in line?
Agreed indeed.
I use Steam on both Windows (which I only really keep around for games and a couple other apps I haven't found Linux replacements for) and Linux. My Windows Steam has somewhere over 150 games. My Linux Steam (same account) has about 15.
Frankly MSFT could shut down and block Wine from the USA
I'm not sure if they actually could without making game developers that use directx nervous about IP problems as well or would even bother. I can't really see them getting any net benefit out of it.
Huh. Some of the cheating methods on Wikipedia make me think back. The ex-wife was stuck in 7th Guest at the "Blood and Honey" puzzle. I had been trying to help her, but all to no avail. Then I heard a rumor the 7up Cool Spot game was written by the same people that wrote "Blood and Honey". So, I got a copy of Cool Spot (keeping in mind I HATE games branded like that), and played it against "Blood and Honey." Beat it the first time through.
Well, I didn't recognize the quote as anything but a generic quote, so I used this nifty thing out there called Google and I used it on the two lines referring to Santiago. Lo and behold, I found out what it was a quote from.

* You read that list on the internet.
I am in on Windows 8 sucking. Of course, that is somewhat hypothetical, based on the fact that I have yet to be able to use it, as my legitmately purchased update will not install on my netbook.
Or, as when my ex-wife was working for a grocery chain that offered a discount on store brands linked to the loyalty card, you loan one of your cards to a child-rearing couple that are family friends. We never had children, BTW.
Well, it would have been nice, for those of us that purchased upgrades, if they upgrades would actually work, instead of making you waiting until the very end and giving you about the most generic error ever. I purchased an upgrade for my netbook, as Windows 7 is painfully slow, and everyone I know was telling me the performance was better.
Soooooo, there's money down the tube.
Well, I would really love to be able to discuss Win8 on my Aspire One D270 (on which Windows 7 is about useless, although the Linux session is nice), but the legitly purchased Win8 upgrade fails with a completely useless and nondescript error message at the 99% stage.
I still wonder if it might be an issue with GRUB being installed.
And, as per the discussion on ad-blocking, that pissed me right off. I am on a slow DSL connection and their streaming ad was not only choppily useless, but ate a bit of bandwidth for nothing I wanted to deal with at all.
Dunno. Nvidia has so consistently worked well for me under Linux, they are my go to cards for Linux and will stay so until something changes radically.
Well, I had to go back to Nvidia, as my ATI adapter glitched constantly on my desktop. Like as in everytime I opened an application. And we're not even going to talk accelerated applications like full screen video. No problems now. And my 3000HD netbook will not work with ANY acceleration. And we'll not even talk of my prior ATI driver issues under Windows (yes, I keep it around for games, basically.)
Not so much. I have yet to be able to upgrade the ATI drivers on my current box under either Ubuntu or Mint. And I have horror stories about trying to do driver upgrade under previous Windows installs. ATI drivers have always been nothing but a headache for me.
Reason was originally designed with sort of a harness to allow the user to handle the recoil. So, despite the fact Fisheye was using it incorrectly, I wouldn't exactly call it handheld.
Which is almost a non-issue any more.
Not so much any more, given a hygenic restaurant.
And there's citations for you too.

.NET benefit?
I know you and you know me, back from the old CompuServe/Bill Lambdin days. In fact, you actually sent me a floppy once with ARF on it.
AC or not, I wish I had mod points right now.

This internet thing can be kinda cool sometimes.

Can't tell. The update I purchased legitmately will not install on the machine I purchased it for. So there's that I guess.
Assuming, of course, the upgrade even works, which it hasn't in my experience, after wasting way too many hours trying to make it work.

I wouldn't know. I can't read past the first few paragraphs of TFA. I'm thinking there should not be paywalled articles accepted.

I still can't wait until I can get Linux acceleration on my Intel video netbook. Seriously. Can't wait. It works on Windows.

I still love me some AMD processors. IMLTHO, they generally offer better bang for the buck than Intel. Posting this from an AMD box.
Not entirely so much. Still waiting for better support of the HD3000 in my netbook, frankly. Acceleration might be nice.

they don't even need to know the difference between hardware and software.
All they need to know is that their toaster isn't working the way it should and there's a genius down the road who'll fix it for a blowjob.
Why is it I always do support in the wrong neighborhoods?
