This could be accomplished in Perl with about the same number of lines. Any language can do this as long as proper libraries exist. The fact that it is built into the language is not an advantage, in fact it is a disadvantage because you have less flexibility and options.
I'm sure rebol is nice and you can be productive in it, but it won't have anything that you can't do in another language.
Clustering DBs is possible, just difficult. Two phase commits allow for ACID transactions across remote DBs. I believe Oracle has some sort of system that does this. I have never seen one in production though.

You put your server out there on port 80, you have no right to complain if I connect to your machine. Even if my user-agent string were "Fuck your mom". So relax and have a beer instead of wasting your life peering through server logs.

No. Although HP uses Windows internally for email, all of its large, external facing websites run on HPUX. You think everyone at IBM logs in to AIX boxes?
When I graduated from University there were several game companies pursuing me because I majored in Physics and minored in Computer Science, and spent several years doing research in machine learning. From a purely coding aspect the most important skills are going to be math (Linear Algebra), physics (Classical Mechanics), AI, and Graphics. So if you are in school pursue those classes. If you can make it through the upper division level classes you should have no problem learning new algorithms and implementing them and learning new graphics APIs.
Of course some relevant experience outside of school (your own demo or game mod) never hurts.
I am salaried and on call every other week. For this I get an extra 15% in pay, wether or not I get paged. Not a bad deal when the pager is quiet, but it can suck when you have to work all weekend, get paged monday morning at 3am and still have to be at work at 8am.
. The STL in particular is a beautful, high performance, library that damn near perfectly nails down the balance between power, flexability and ease of use.
Don't forget the mind numbing syntax! The STL is nice and fast, but using it makes me yearn for the layers of casting that Java libraries have.
Warning: I lost my sense of humor after taking a linguistics course with George Lakoff, so I may just be missing the Maxis humor...
Did you realize that "losing" one's sense of humor or "missing" Maxis humor are metaphors? Don't try and categorize me as one of those linguistic types though.
It was better when it was originally shown on Showtime because you saw the original Lexx's bare heaving bosom in a shower scene. She was one hot biscuit! Too bad she turned into a lizard and died and got reborn as a hot but not quite as hot girl.
are fucking wierd. Check out this site for more cat induced fun! Half the fun is reading the hate mail from people who are just a bit too sensitive about cats.
You seriously need to look at your choice of mp3 plaer. I only use 1-3% on my celeron 300 with winamp or xmms.
I think I've read everything Hammett wrote. He and Chandler basically invented the hard boiled, noir detective novel.
Actually it should work on any windows that supports USB. That includes win 98, win 2k, win me, and win xp.

. I suspect plenty of students in a Calc class would be unable to identify the axioms their work rests on.
That's why you take real analysis and topology.

I don't know what the answer is, but I know what it isn't:

Thank you.
Why can't the VCR set it's own damn clock?
My sony vcr does this actually - just select "Auto" from a menu. Now if it would only watch TV for me, I'd be set!
Have you thought of quiting your current job? My only worry would be non-compete clauses and overly intrusive IP claims.
Otherwise, why not?
scms - a bit set in the digital stream that most consumer MD units respect. You can buy kits kill scms, they just flip a bit.

maybe they can pull a siggraph and alternate between the sites every year? Siggraph goes between Los Angeles, Orlando, and New Orleans.
