First, I thank you for not flaming me for typing "why" instead of "way".

Second, I'd like to add, "Trolling" is a way to share the pain. In other words, when folks say crap to get a rise out of others, I think they want to cause others pain - pain that they're feeling. It's a way of striking back. Which is really sad. I think it's a result of our "PC" climate. We're not allowed to offend anyone, so we all have learned to withhold our feelings and opinions. And as a result, we vent online.

I have examples, but I don't know how to express them online without being moderated down.

And I bet, most of the time, folks wouldn't talk like that at work - but they do here. I think being online is a way to deal with aggression. In short, I'd rather have you folks flame me, or whatever, online than shoot me at work.

I can't remember who it was - it was a NOVA episode (but it stuck in my head because of his fear!). And after talking to friends who work with various internet security companies and defense contractors, I have to reiterate their opinion of these guys - they're really sharp. And as much as I like to disparage Government workers, these guys aren't to be trifled with.

Non-profit is just a tax status. Meaning, there's a restriction to what you can do with the profits: there's nothing restricting you from making as much money or as much profit as you want - you can get rich off of a non-profit.

My wife works for a non-profit and there's plenty of meetings where they are encouraged to cut costs. So, sorry, not making "evil" profits won't make the plant any safer. Neither will having it run by some Government bureaucrat. Do you really want the caliber of person that works at the department of motor vehicles running those plants?

First, how do yo prove that emails were deleted? And if you can prove it, how do you prove that they weren't deleted maliciously?

Second, I once asked a member of the Bar here in GA (a lawyer) about deleting emails and the legal ramifications. He said that as long as I have a company policy of deleting them after X amount of time, then nobody could claim that I was deleting them for malicious or fraudulent reasons. Because, a lot of folks, when they get sued, will delete all of their emails right before discovery. Then the judge rules something that I can't remember, but basically you, the email deleter, gets into trouble and possibly loses the case.
As a smart ass, I said that my policy is to delete them as soon as I get them. That's OK, actually. I just have to live with trying remember what was in the email. Or print them - then that's yet more problems.
