The blurb is rather badly worded, but I'm assuming the two no-nos are these: 1) Giving prescriptions to people not in a state you're licensed in. 2) Giving prescriptions to people without examining them.
There's a similar course (it's three weeks, one hour each weekday morning, 5:30-6:30) in Austin, TX, and a _lot_ of tech people participate in it. In fact, the main co-instructor worked with me at an IT firm (we were both in QA). He got half our group to do it. It was a great experience. Lots and lots of fun (in retrospect, of course;) ) They have a website at www.navysealconditioning.com
Ah yes, I forgot that the American Music Awards (AMA) are a real movie awards show. And the Blockbuster awards?! That's like the stupid Billboard awards for music. The AFI comes with more prestige and clueful people than most if not all other awards shows.
No, it won't be very interesting, unless if a whole lot of Linux users decide to run random binary attachments all of a sudden. This trojan is not propagated in the same way as Code Red at _all_. Code Red was a worm, this is a trojan. It doesn't self-propagate at all.
Excuse me? Code Red automatically infected any servers which were vulnerable to its particular exploit that it randomly connected to. This trojan must be run by the user. It has no automatic way of propagating itself to other systems. So how is this like Code Red again?
An obvious target?? If any country launched an ICBM at the US, that country would be quite literally wiped off the face of the earth soon thereafter. No government will be stupid enough to do that. The true dangers are actions by terrorist guerilla groups who really don't care, and whose actions can't be stopped by something like Star Wars.
China never was Communist. It's always been an almost monarchial dictatorship acting under the guise of Communism. Hell, the economy there these days is pretty much completely capitalist. And I doubt the developers they're talking about here are acting under specific directions of the government. "You must flaunt the capitalist pig licenses or else!" And if violating the GPL is high on your list of objectionable activities by the Chinese gov't, you obviously don't know much Chinese history. I stopped trying to understand humans after learning about the Cultural Revolution, the Greal Leap Forward, Mao's bloodthirsty lunacy in almost all respects, witnessing the Tiananmen Square Massacre first-hand, etc etc.
Wow, a perfect analogy... except that CRC did not write MathWorld. And at least a good number of/.'ers (like me) support this ruling. In fact, this ruling supports MathWorld's case because it's run by the guy _who wrote it_. CRC was trying to claim that just because they had print rights they have web rights too. Sound familiar? I personally this ruling is absolutely correct.
The movie hardly looks high-concept. The trailer looks like a typical conspiracy/action thriller type movie with geek references to draw in the techie crowd.
And you know for a fact that qualified minority coaches aren't being discriminated against? The sports industry is very much a "good ol' boys" kind of network.
It's not just for seven people. They're seeking class-action status for the lawsuit, making the $5 billion apply to hundreds of former and current black employees at Microsoft, according to the article. And there is the punitive aspect the others have mentioned as well.
If your kid's teacher let's a Nazi brainwash the class, there's some major problems going on. I don't know of any schools that would allow a neo-nazi to come within five hundred yards of it's premises. You see, freedom of speech also means we are free to choose what _not_ to listen to. And last time I checked, collecting Nazi memorabilia doesn't make you a Nazi. BTW, a "violent" poster doesn't cause me harm but second-hand smoke does.
Disclaimer: I work on TiK. I'd just like to point out that TiK is still alive and doing _very_ well. Plugins, filters, buddy pouncing, advanced logs and captures, remote administration, weather and stock updates, and graphical smilie support are just some of the features which TiK supports. With options to turn everything off if you want a stream-lined client. (And we had these before a certain other client too...) Not to mention, it's the most cross-platform of the clients I've seen, since it just needs Tcl/Tk to be installed to work. Checkout the TiK homepage at http://tik.sourceforge.net

It's very difficult to learn "hard" theory on your own (in any field). Without experience at doing proofs, etc, you have almost no chance of understanding anything. The key to learning is self-exploration, but you need a guide, a la the Moore/Texas method.
Sometime in the near future, the Earth will not be able to accomodate everybody. This is almost guranteed with the current rate of population increase. So, eventually, some people shall have to settle on places other than Earth. Humanity itself can survive on Earth a lot longer, most likely, but there will come a day too when Earth is completely uninhabitable, I would venture.
Pascal's wager is _fundamentally_ flawed. Why? I doubt any higher being would be very happy with someone that believes in them _purely_ as an "insurance plan."
First of all, Jackie Chan usually doesn't do wire-fu work. And CTHD is _not_ just about the action sequences. If you think that, you obviously haven't read any of the reviews very carefully. What makes CTHD unique is a _real_ plot that combines romance, mysticism, honor, loyalty, etc.
Except there's still plenty of different characters that have the exact same pronunciation, including tone. Context is everything.

Er, you realize there's prolly a few more decimal places in the actual ratings, right?

I'm not sure I completely agree with the original poster, but with regards to the roads analogy, there is a minimum speed on highways.
Garrote is most certainly a verb as well as a method/instrument. There is no such word as garote. And the verb wasn't supposed to be past tense.

I'm pretty sure it's estimated the sun will burn out and become a red giant in about 4 billion years.

Except the producers never told him what was going on until the very end.
But in _any_ mod, 2+2 = 4 is a true statement. It's just that in mod 3, 2+2=1 is also a true statement, since of course 1=4 mod 3.

Since all three of your referenced articles were talking about 3D GUI's or similar projects, I'm not sure your point is really valid.
