If Bill Gates/Microsoft and Google really pushed for this then you KNOW it is for the good of the people and not some attempt at corporate financial padding.
I have to agree with you. When the first article appeared my knee-jerk was to shout that I have been playing video games since the 70' but I am not a violent person. But this is not the definitive answer as I am not all people.
I am not seeing 'violence' resulting from video games in these articles but 'aggression'. Aggression and violence are different things. Violence can be caused using aggression but aggression can be as little as giving the middle finger in traffic with no violent result.
I agree that the WRT54GL with Tomato firmware has better QOS than stock Linksys firmware. I have 2 VOIP lines at home with this router and the call quality is noticeably better after the firmware push.
And in true Microsoft fashion, the whole purpose of rip-tp-drive' here is to quiet down the stupid optical drive. But since the 20GB drive formats to 14.5 GB from the start, you really can only put 1 game on the drive if you have other content like demos/arcade etc. so you will need to buy their $160 / 120Gb drive. And this is just to quiet their loud drives.
This was the feature I was excited for but now that I have to put the disk in as well it means nothing to me anymore.
To be fair, KaZaa went the spyware route AFTER it was sold to some other company. The original founders went on to create. Skype, which was then sold to eBay.
My thoughts exactly. Of course to get to the nitty gritty, she really doesn't have a stake in the Kindle, rather the ebooks that are sold to read on it.
There was a time when Oprah really did bring to the forefront 'hot button' issues that may not have made it to the demographic that watch her, but she has become nothing more than Billy Mays who makes more than $300 million a year.
Verizon couldn't have waited until December? Or November 15? Or November 5? No, they flip the switch just in time to make it more difficult for tech-savvy candidates (largely Democratic, hmmm) to send "don't 4get 2 vote!"
The letter states that it will still be free to non profit organizations. Of course, the presidency is a FOR-profit organization but that is neither here nor there.
I have used MySQL for nearly 7 years now. I currently maintain about 30 databases across many servers and operating systems from MS to Linux. Databases as small as 200k to one as large as 900MB....I have never had a single issue with any of them in all that time, ever.
I agree. The trade-off of cash/ad-based games has been lost. Now, we give them $40-$60, then pay for content that should have been added to the launched title like extra maps or weapons etc. and then get advertised on top of it.
I understand that a business' only objective is to profit, but there seems to be no end to the greed.
I have been purchasing and playing video games since the 70's straight through until as recent as last week. You know as well as I do that this will really get out of hand and fast. But on a positive note for me, this will keep my games purchases low and away from those that participate in 'in-game' ads, the dynamic kind anyway.
I am more inclined to believe that it is a simple business rule to go where the money is. Soon they will have run their current well dry and need a new money maker to move on to. But I didn't bother to RTFA.

We're all biased

You have now idea what a troll is obviously

Obviously some people who STILL support Bush's administration are modding tonight. -1 Troll? That is ridiculous.

Fuck Oprah.
"We're happy to announce that Google has aquired GrandCentral"
Oh well.
They must have been in use in Florida around the 2000 election :)
Does no one remember The Simpsons?
In my heart of hearts, I knew it was a Rickroll....yet I clicked anyway.
Well played, well played.
Are you from Microsoft? Yes? Well thank you for your time.

Unfortunately 'voting with your feet' doesn't work in these instances as all the major players follow suit soon after.
So .03 absorbs cost involved... But they charge their own customers .40 per message. .20 to send and .20 to receive.
Interesting...
I guess that is my question then is why not run a Debian farm?
Let me say this about that....
I have used MySQL for nearly 7 years now. I currently maintain about 30 databases across many servers and operating systems from MS to Linux. Databases as small as 200k to one as large as 900MB....I have never had a single issue with any of them in all that time, ever.

if you can't beat 'em, join 'em...

Off parent topic... This was just terrible.
