NFL licensing is prohibitively expensive. No licensing, no NFL player models, and no real time ESPN/NFL stats.

At best you're stuck with "alternate football league" games in open source.

Other than that, yes, you're right, football is never going to evolve, it's ripe for becoming an open source game market.

Bittorrent's just a big shark in a really really big ocean of bandwidth problems about to hit you like a tsunami.

The backbone will get stronger or new markets won't emerge. Apparently in this day and age, the market has right of way.

DRM is also like Chevron slapping in a gasoline meter that dings you an extra $1 per gallon for choosing Valero gasoline, or just shuts your car down and voids your warranty.

I've been in two workplaces like that and both went bankrupt. They'll have their comraderie, but you'll have your actual achievements on your resume, and maybe you'll even decide to run your own business later on; women-owned businesses statistically do better, anyway.

Now I manage a fairly egalitarian workplace where guys don't crap themselves over women coworkers. We judge people by their skill and not their gender. I know this is anecdotal, but hey, I don't see us going down any time soon, so my theory of egalitarian employers doing better, is... unshaken.
