But in the real wilderness with no civilization nearby, when it gets dark it is really, really dark.

The emergency move away from nuclear has been incredibly short sighted. I understand not wanting to build new reactors, but shutting down running reactors, with all the capital investment involved, just doesn't make any sense. Especially when there is little risk of natural disasters in Germany.

If people are serious about maintaining the same quality of lifestyle that we have today without burning as much coal, the current solution is Nuclear Energy. Yes it does pose many risks but so does burning coal, and the latter seems to be destroying our environment.

Nuclear energy is great up until the point the time comes to dismantle an aging nuclear plant and all the nuclear waste that goes along with it. Then the power companies duck away by buying themselves out of the equation and letting taxpayer money take over.

Nuclear power is a really nice deal. Reap all the profits and let the taxpayer take care of the dirty work.

And if the unthinkable happens and one of the things blows up in your face due to incalculable risks, as has happened before at least two times, well, the taxpayer will also have to step in because like Fukushima taught us, the costs of a nuclear meltdown are so immense, it will bankrupt any company.

Whatever way you look at it, nuclear is a shady deal with corporations reaping profits while carrying none of the risks.

Why would you call pixel graphics "rubbish"? Pixel art has a charm of its own, and many players prefer to have good, innovative gameplay over the shiniest and latest graphics. Indie-studios have limited resources, and emphasizing gameplay over graphics is what has made many of their games so appealing and successful.

You do have to wonder why Wikileaks and Assange are so eager to target everything U.S. - the intelligence agencies, political fuck-ups, armed forces fuck-ups...

Sure the U.S. isn't perfect and you will always find something to criticize, but there are much worse countries in the world, actively fighting against liberties, free press, human rights, etc. the most prominent and important being China and Russia. How come there are never any leaks from these autocratic countries?

By always putting the spotlight on the U.S. Wikileaks and Assange are playing right into the hands of these autocratic regimes, not just by exposing classified information, but also ideologically by repeatedly pointing out the U.S. as apparently being no better or even worse than the countries ruled by despots. Which in the grand scheme of things is simply false. And if you think so, you are deluded. Where would you rather live? The U.S. or Russia / China?

Considering all of this it's hard to shake the feeling that Wikileaks and Assange have degenerated into being agents for Russia. Maybe they have actually been infiltrated and controlled by Russia in one way or another.

  9. So if they all worship the same "one true God", why do the mohamed-psychos believe they need to kill everyone else for the glory of their "one true God". Because it's not a religions it's a murderous cult of crazy nuts.

The reason is always the same: power and money. Diligent people with an agenda have always taken advantage of weak-spirited individuals to serve their purpose. Islamic extremism is just one example of how faith can be used to radicalize people. The Nazis used the argument of racial superiority, Mexican drug lords use the more immediate promise of wealth and power to lure young, impressionable people... religious extremism is not really about faith... that's just the means to recruit the foot soldiers. The real underlying battle are struggles for power and influence in the Middle East.

  10. Who do you think built the pyramids, idiot.

Like another poster already pointed out, the ancient Egyptians, which lived thousands of years before arabs even existed.

Or did you think mohamed invented arabs when he invented allah?

Allah means "God" in arabic, and Islam is based on Judaism and Christianity - in many ways it's the same religion worshiping the "one true God". So Mohammed didn't invent Allah. Nope.

I wonder where the guy found all the time between his mass rape sessions.

It's a common accusation from more base-minded people that Mohammed was a pedophile, which I guess is what you're hinting at. While it might be true that Mohammed had sex with what we consider to be children in the 21st century - I honestly don't know that - I think it's safe to say that this was happening all over the world in the 6th century and would not be some "perversion" unique to Mohammed. It might be inconceivable to you, but moral and ethical standards do change over the centuries.
