No. Vista is a marketing name for NT 6.0. Given the fact that Windows 7 is internally referred to as Vista SP2, Windows 7 is actually Windows NT 6.0 SP2, or Windows NT 6.0.2.
Why not NT 6.1? Because if Vista is 6.0, then Vista SP1 is 6.1 en SP2 is 6.2. But since Windows 7 is not any technically different from Vista, it's just Windows NT 6.0.2.
[...] hell I paid a whole $50 for the 1.1Ghz Celeron with 512Mb of RAM I'm typing this on years ago, and it gets better performance that a nettop.[...]
Intel Atom CPU's do not have out-of-order execution which makes it in a way slower than celerons, but my EeePC has a celeron, 1GB RAM and an onboard Intel graphics card and although KDE4 is too slow, Gnome with Compiz runs just fine...
I bought a Linux powered EeePC and like with all of them it was either Linux with larger SDD or slow-as-hell Windows XP with a smaller SDD for the same price.
Microsoft did not effortlessly drove Linux away, but Xandros, which sucks balls; outdated-, constantly crashing Firefox 2.x, shitty GUI, outdated OpenOffice.org and so on...
It is also the customer that would ditch Windows 7 in favor for XP because they are not familiar with that.
The first thing I did was install Ubuntu Linux on the EeePC with Compiz and all that stuff, and friend of mine even asked; "Wow is that the new Windows 7?" -"No, it's Linux". Too bad KDE4 is too much of a slowdown, otherwise I would have installed that. See also; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CPIgEFIv5MI
Intel emphasized in their presentation that it's GPL'ed and free for everyone to contribute. Yeah duh, but the first thing that went through my mind was; AMD, since Moblin is optimised for Atom CPU's.
I didn't RTFA but linux.com has a link to the flash video of that presentation on their website, posted on the front page. The presentation's video durance, I might add, is about an hour.
How about a top ten Moblin features that you should use with 1080HD res screenshots spread over 10 pages with each page consisting less than 3 sentences
Hairline? Could you please explain to me what you mean by that? I hope it has something to do with pulling out your own hair out of frustration? Just curious...
And I hope that now that the Serious Engine 3 is done, that they get back to uhm... Oh yeah I remember, the Serious Sam II Linux port and get it out of beta, like Corteam promised on their website.*

I don't think that he is looking for motivation. I have the same problem too; a very ambitious sparetime project but it's so different from anything in it's own field that, allthough I have the ideas and solutions and even layed out the basic architecture, I don't even know how to begin coding it. How do I start?
Isn't that your problem too, Midnight Thunder? Just need a little 'beginning' so you can get going...
I guess the system itself is OK, however it needs to be stripped of it's corruption. It needs corruption prevention laws. It needs a completely different set op people (but I guess the people get what they deserve). Business should be more controlled, or better; limited in what they can do. It needs to be more transparent. It needs to be more Obama. It needs to perform actions that might not directly be popular with the people (elections, I'm looking at you), but indirectly better for the people on the long run, etc, etc.
In other words: the system is ok, but the way it's executed is bad.
I wonder why today's computing power with 1GHz machines and 1GB memories does not feel snappy at all.
That's because back then you didn't have a Firewall, a fully featured browser like you have now, 3D desktops, Wifi, Bluetooth and onboard video and sound eating up your entire CPU, background services like-... Oh you get the point. Operating Systems were shitty compared to the features we have now, that's why, even if it's under the hood...
On a side note: KDE 4.x is faster than Vista, but the windowing system in Vista is faster than Kwin. Why is that? Yeah Vista is slow but the UI is smooth as hell...:/
Or just be normal, act normal towards girls and you eventually end up with one without all the stupid advises everybody thinks that works. Who would you rather be with? The girls that falls for your bike or the girl that actually likes you the way you are?
But if we're out for sex, having as many girlfriends as possible than just read The Game by Niel Strauss. And no and yes; it always works. But the sad thought that is does actually work makes me reject it fron using. I also kind of not need it anyway. It however can help you understand girls a lot better...
On the other hand: getting a nice haircut, wearing 'normal' clothes and acting a bit more normal isn't going to hurt either. There's a lot you can change without having to put up a fake personality.
Blending in with society isn't gonnaa hurt and behaving towards girls like you would behave towards random guys (as a guy) isn't going to hurt either.
But indeed be yourself and be not on the lookout for girlfriends and especialy not sex will get you a girlfriend.
Well, it's the 12329429th online shooter incarnation. So uhm... nothing new there.
The game is really polished. The quality of the graphics and the sound is really good. It isn't surround sound, but who the hell has a 5.1 surroundset for gaming anyway?
The artwork is err... a bit outdated but good acceptable as in it doesn't feel like you are playing a 5 year old game.
The entire feel and setting to this game is, well, a bit kiddy. No hardcore übergamer-style here. It is more targetted for 15 year old players and below. For these people the game is probably a blast, but for older people I would redirect you to Warsow.

Even the name is a lie. The only internet browser out there is Konqueror. The rest is just a World Wide Web browser, or web browser for short. So it should be WE; Web Explorer.

An often cheap, lightweight, low-spec, mobile, tiny laptop that is useless without the internet
Are you trolling? Anyway great ideas...
The fundamental problem for OEM's is that Windows means either +tax or -hardware spec.
Kinda redundant post if you'd ask me...

I have yet to see somebody with a surroundset that's not utilised for watching DVD/BluRay movies, let alone plugged into a desktop computer.
With Canon, we can.

Simple. nVidia doesn't have a driver. nVidia is not ready for the arm. Period. Nothing to see here. Move along...
