    there are tools out there that make it so simple: 1. use anydvdhd or dvdfabhd to rip the files to hd. 2. use ripbot264 to select the m2ts file 3. convert it to what size mp4/mkv you want. it does take about 12-20 hours to re-encode (3 year old dual core amd). i've found that h264 to h264 is faster than vc1 or mpeg2 to h264. originally i used tsmuxer to demux the video/audio/subs, but one time, i, for whatever reason, tried the m2ts file directly and ended up saving a step in the process.

    the military will continue to piss our tax dollars away instead of just doing it all in-house, which is where the majority of the stuff(weapons/vehicles/etc) should be done.

    unless, of course, it causes some major retailers to not carry those games at all. then again, wishful thinking would have me to believe that since items will have to be restricted/purchased with an id, maybe more "ultraviolent or sexually violent video games" will become readily available, though it's highly unlikely, but that is mostly due to retarded development licensing from console manufacturers. where is my "bitch-hunter: the game" or "super shokushu goukan" (where you use wii-motes to control the tentacles) already!

    it would be a better move for the armed services to do it's own in-house r&d and production. do a reverse gi bill where you go to school to become an engineer or whatever than have to serve for like 5 years. it is way better than letting these companies bilk our money that would be better spent elsewhere (or even left to the people in the first place).

    but not for what they are giving you. give me the full 1080p, non-drm-ed version (that i can transcode down to whatever format i want) and we'll be about square. for an average 20-some episode season, that works out to be about what you'd pay when they first release it at retail.

    is the 'god squad' a real organization? is it a subset of the church, employing dimwits who don't know shit about the bible and try to up-sell you deluxe bibles that you don't need? it seems like "holy family parish" is the name of the organization, and he is making fun of their logo. it'd be no different if he was wearing a "god inside" t-shirt, parodying the intel logo. on the flip side, the priest is selling his beliefs and should be taxed accordingly.
