How did H2G2 (the book) have a hard line against religion?
I mean, it's obvious that the story clashes with most religious frameworks, but even at times when it seemed to be making fun of the idea of God, it even more seemed to be making fun at the expense of hardline athiests.
I think what you mean to describe is a situation in which the work done by the poorer countries is folded back into the original project, and then the project--with that work--is also sold under a license to a corporation in a richer country which can afford a license which does not require them to contribute back, but they still benefit from the code written by the poorer corporation.
This is not an issue with the GPL. Firstly, the GPL only requires modifications to be distributed to the persons receiving the software from the distributor, so internal software can be modified without contributing modifications back to the original project. Secondly, the GPL dictates that the code and its modifications must also be GPL, so unless the developers were approached with an offer to dual-license those modifications, then the modifications could only be released under the GPL, and not incorporated into the original to be distributed under a different license.
Well, for one thing Joe schmoe can't shoot me or his wife when he is drunk and angry. For another, Joe Schmoe's uzi he needed for protecting the secret about his litlle willy cannot be stolen by said criminals.
That's all well and good, but most of the gun-owning people with no concern for human life don't own them legally. What good does the law do then, except ensure that you won't be able to defend yourself against Joe Criminal?
There are several different types of stress. While a split keyboard doesn't fix all of them, it does help with some of them.
As an example: On a regular qwerty keyboard, put your hands over it with your fingers over the home row, as normal. Now rotate your hands so that your pinky fingers rest on the 'q' and 'p'. That is a more natural position, and relieves significant stress on the wrist.
It isn't a matter of "not supporting", it's a matter of "specifically disabling".
If your Ford engine wasn't built to be strapped into, say, a Chevrolet chassis, that's one thing. But if it specifically checked to see if it was in a Chevrolet chassis and then refused to work in that case, Ford would be doing something wrong.
But as technology progresses, they'll be able to fit them into smaller and smaller packages, maybe even make one that fits into the palm of your hand. I bet the money in voice is in phones like that.
Well, the article spoke of an investigation of issues internal to Russia, and the thread of your reply was concerning US law.
Although, honestly, the infeasibility of abiding with the UK's laws here is what prevents enforcement, they wouldn't really have any reach to be able to touch the Russian company.
They may or may not have a licence to distribute music in the Russian market, but you are not in the Russian market, so they have no licence to distribute to you, so you were participating in copyright violation.
So their Russian license forbids foreign sales? If that were the case, I'd be participating in copyright violation by mail-ordering CDs from Russia.
Not only does censorship refer to the content or expression, but it is fundamentally different.
If voting process documentation was hosted by one political party and there was a call to have it hosted by an impartial party instead, would that be censorship?

This has been fixed as of 1.0.3 :)
Finally!
That video card does 2D just fine.
People do more than 3D rendering!
Don't fret too much. You see, I thought I would loathe Napoleon Dynamite. I wished everyone would just shut up about it.
Then I saw it.
It was slow, awkward, and painful to watch.
I loved it. Now, months later, I'm still quoting it. I've become what I've hated.
In closing: Watch it, you may like it! But it may warp you.
Which has been the case with every other release of Windows.
Anyone buying a new PC at that point, really.
You're right.
Those frigging youngsters seem to have played them all. They have no idea how priveleged they are...
I loved Chrono Trigger, but...

Whippersnapper
It's too late for her now, because she passed away at a young age, but I hope that any future three legged kittens can be saved. :(
Then there were some handfuls of people who had their hands held through the process of adapting.
Most did not. Most handled it themselves.
Sometimes you have to tighten your belt or crawl along. It happens. It's not the end of the world.
It sucks, but we survive, and we'll likely survive much better than most of the rest of the world.

This would not happen with a BSD-style license, for instance.
What in a BSD style license prevents it?
My favorite is from near my hometown: It, MS.
As an old lady in a documentary said, "This is It."

Furthermore, with integer degrees, Fahrenheit gives more precision.
Those of us who made it far enough in school to use decimal notation are quite pleased with the sensibility and utility of Celsius, thank you.
I want to install it on my computer.
Can I do that? I can't find any information about doing just that.
A LiveCD is good, because it shows people what a properly set-up environment can do, but why not let us set it up, ourselves?
Licensing issues perhaps? Whatever the reason, a note on the page would be nice.

*cringe*
I hate to be the one to break the news to you, but... it does, indeed, exist.
Well, that is probably the largest driving force.

I'm amazed that you're so up to speed on the agreements to the companies.
Where, pray tell, can I download copies of their contracts? I hope they have PDFs!
You mean this "little shop" which takes your money and sells you things for which they have no permission to sell?
They've only been accused thus far, not convicted.
It could very well be legal according to Russian law and the existing contracts held by the company through which allofmp3.com claims their license.
Just because some record labels in the US are unhappy and stamping their feet doesn't mean that what they say is correct.

What dictionary do you use?
