OMG you just bring back to my mind memories of my first Linux installs: a brand new copy of suse, can't remember the version, maybe 4 or 5, still have the companion book which have some yellow fractals on the cover.

Yeah, yeah, I bet this guy is 1337, uses ONLY notepad / ed, hand writes his make files, and is the most badass coder on the entire planet. The problem is - nobody cares. Everyone else is more concerned with getting the job done efficiently
Yeah i used to think that way, i wrote the software application of my thesis using only a text editor with syntax hilighting(editplus, nice btw) and believe me, it was a pain in the ass, i had to check regularly the java api so i could remember the parameters and name of some method, this without counting the happy time i spend coding swing layouts at hand. Now i just matured and never again will do this again, the good site of ald of this is that i learned a lot about the idiosincracies of swing, java and ant as a build tool.
Thanks to this technology and a good gynecologist my wife and I were informed that our little daughter have spina biffida, this helped the doctors to program a C Section to my wife and decide the best action to follow. Right now my baby is 19 month old and doing great!
Thank you technology and thank you science and medical advances!!
Technology is cool and all but life is more than that, i think some children's, women or homeless program, even animal shelters could use that money, maybe there's no tablets, linux or solar panels involved but you might help save lifes.

Here in Colombia, South America, we are experiencing a summer longer than previous years. This summer is hotter and dryer than other years with some max temp of 36 celsius.
