    Crazy ass muslims who want to blow up structures will be provided instructions on how to do so from Saudi Arabia when they call home.

    Blocking and censoring will only prevent people who have an interest in learning from being blocked. Just like gun control in the USA -- this only will work on law abiding citizens. You can legislate all the laws you want, but laws only effect law-abiding people . Criminals in the USA bring Assault Rifles in from mexico along with their drugs. I would imagine the terrorists in the EU would bring the knowledge for whatever they need with each "immigrant" that each country allows in.

    What's next step? Forcing people to actually look at the adds? Or press at it? Or are you a thief if you don't buy a product of an advertiser of a web page you visit?


    This sounds like any recent DVD.

    Luckily for us the web is an open format and we only have to see what we want to see. If the site was smart they'd just rasterize the whole page and you'd be forced to look at all the adds (and they wouldn't by dynamic flash crap like they are now).

    Java

    The minimum JDK/JRE version required to use OpenOffice.org features that require java is JDK/JRE version 1.3.1.

    To use the XSLT filters with JDK 1.3.1 you should download the files xalan.jar and xml-apis.jar from Xalan website and crimson.jar from the Crimson website. The files also need to be added to the OpenOffice.org classpath. This can be accomplished with Tools->options->OpenOffice.org->Security

    For full functionality, jdk/jre 1.4.0_02 or newer or jdk/jre 1.4.1_01 or newer is required
    For accessibility
    All platforms

            * Java runtime environment 1.4.0_02 / 1.4.1_01 or newer

    From openoffice.org ........... yeah, you need Java. Java Components or Java core is irrelevant -- any time you fire up a Java anything you needs tons of Mem and CPU. Watch perfmon or top.

    Google searches for products and products reviews has become terrible. It is no secret, I tried to research a camera I was buying and found 300 pages of paid for merchant links that didn't remotely match what I was searching for. Why not just choose a NON-SHITTY search engine?

    It's a Java Application.....

    If you want it to run faster buy a decent PC. I've got a AMD x2 3800 with 2 gigs of ram and it runs like the wind along with about 10 other applications at the same time.

    Java apps are all CPU intensive. If your PC was as fast as my 2 year old PC you'd be all set :-)

    I guess you can say that you'll run into "problems" with rails if people don't know what they're doing. Thats the same for any projects in any language however.

    Rails != PHP anyways, Ruby could be compared to PHP but Rails is an entire web platform (server and all!) similar to J2EE. So really your better to compare rails to J2EE or a PHP web platform like errrrrrr.... Joomla?

    Well --- A moray with it's second set of jaws looks almost identical to the "chest burster" alien phase. It is quite Eel like -- except it's a land based animal in the movies, however since James Camron's Aliens don't breath I bet it can swim quite well.

    Something to think about the next time your swimming naked in a lake or stream........It's not the 1st set of jaws that will get you.... it's the 2nd set.......

    I like vista. I just installed it for work(I'm an ubuntu user), it runs smoothly on good hardware and can finally automatically download drivers.

    It's still not as good as Ubuntu.

    A 10,000 gallon tube of hydrogen would make one hell of building crusher. You thought a 747 made a mess? Wait until one of these bombers drive the space shuttle and it's boosters into the side of the pentagon.

    The space program has access to top of the line rocketry and lots of explosive material. Do you want to disperse a dangerous chemical/bacteria? How about strapping it to the back of the next satilite launch?

    Sexual orientation will always come out when your "spouse" has to be interviewed for a background check. That's standard issue in any government top secret/dangerous job -- I know when I was cleared for top secret work my family and friends got interviewed. We live in a country with out a national ID and open borders. The only way to screen out the dangerous people is to do it before hiring.

    If it runs on a Mac it will also support OpenGL. That is Blizzards standard execution -- Warcraft 3 runs on a Mac and has an OpenGL flag in Windows(thats why it works so well in wine), the same goes for World of Wacraft.

    I expect Starcraft 2 will also have that OpenGL flag which will be on my Default in XP to allow for the game to work.

    Anything that inhibits logical thought will not help a soldier. Instinct and fear drive squadrons to their deaths.

    The only benefit of fear is heightened senses and a short burst of strength -- both of which can be rendered by an electronic device.

    A fearless soldier is the goal of military training.

    Just because you don't have fear doesn't mean you'll shoot yourself in the head. You still have LOGIC -- which as we all know has kept the Vulcans alive for 1000's of years. Logically you wouldn't jump off a bridge if your friends bet you to since you know that would probably result in death or severe injury to yourself. Fear inhibits logic -- therefore the less fear and the more logical a solider becomes.... the more effective he becomes !

    In a knife fight the soldier who keeps his mind wins. The one who panics and tries to run get a blade in the kidneys or the spine.

    Typically if you run a MainFrame you pay more in licensing costs than the GPD of Uganda.

    No, but really -- it's reliability.... not CPU power. I work on a MF with 12 CPU's, 8 are in use and 4 are automatic failover. We have 2 MF's actually--one is on the other side of the country and if our main MF fails we can switch over in under a minute.

    The MF could take an RPG and still run, plus it serves every RF gun in our entire retail chain and aggregates all of our POS data and item level assortment data at our warehouse.

    When you buy a MF you buy a platform to run an enterprise on.

    The HP unit is 300$ cheaper and has a bigger screen. Why would anyone buy one of these 1000$ macs? The only reason I can see is brand fanaticism.

    Therefore, I must conclude it's better to have long fingers, as they not only make you better at math, but better at playing piano. Both of which could lead to a better financial situation, and every nerd knows it's easy to score if you're rich, while it's much harder to score waving your wang around and pointing out how big it is.

    Walmart is trying to bring their image up from where it now sits. They are adding wood flooring to stores in my area (fake wood..) and are trying to compete with the higher end competitor, Target. This is a good move for Walmart to try to bring their own brand up...probably not a good move for Dell. Dell would do less damage to it's brand if it chose Target in my eyes. We also need to remember that the Dell brand has lost it's quality in the eyes of those who have used the brand for 10 years. Older Dell computers where never made like the 500$ crap wagons of today... Dell was know for quality and those chose to computer on price which brought down the brand name and the quality.
