  2. Clarification on China Now Halting Shipments of Rare Earth Minerals To US · · Score: 1

There has been a lot of media coverage about "rare earth minerals", but sadly there is very little mention of just what they are. Anyone know a list of these minerals?

  3. Steve Bubbie on Steve Jobs Lashes Out At Android · · Score: 1

I'd have no problem with the iPhone or the App store if you weren't such a PRICK, oh yeah and let me choose my own F*CKING phone company.

  4. Re:Something I find interesting on Gene Simmons Threatens Anonymous Again and Gets DDoS'd · · Score: 3, Insightful

Damn right, musicians need to stop being so lazy and get out there and perform. Does the guy that designed or built your car get royalties every time you get in it? Does the guy that designed or made your clothes get royalties every time you wear them?

Nothing against artists, but they really need to get out there and perform more. Earn a living like everyone else you lazy bums.

I wonder if Simmons pays royalties to the designers and builders of his website?

  5. Re:I'm all for objectivity... on Ex-Apple CEO John Sculley Dishes On Steve Jobs · · Score: 1, Redundant

Except that it isn't Jobs, he's a dork. I think all of the engineers and un-named employees at Apple would take exception to the perception that is being fabricated that the Dork is responsible for Apple's comeback.

As seems pretty typical of large corporations one person at the top takes credit for the brilliance of innovator's below.

  6. One quick question? on French Government May Subsidize Music Downloads · · Score: 3, Insightful

Where does the French government "earn" it money from? The French government isn't subsidising squat, the French people are.

This is perfect for propaganda peddlers, er news networks, now they can more easily deceive the public.

  9. Wow Talk About Missing The Point on Lawyer Is Big Winner In Webcamgate Settlement · · Score: 2, Interesting

Lawyers leaching off clients is not newsworthy. Title of the article should have been "WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON IN AMERICA?". FTA "prosecutors decided not to pursue criminal charges", "took pictures of students even while they were sleeping in their own bedroom".

Prosecutors, the FBI, and Judges are taking a big dump on the constitutional rights of individuals, and you're concern is what the lawyer earns off of this??? Americans are squandering their freedom and have no right to complain when they finally wake up and realize their Democracy is but a shadow of what it once was.

Horse apples! All Apple is saying is that they want to be the only ones to be able to infringe on third party rights. Steve Jobs self-righteous BS is just that. Look at the $650+ million judgment against them just last Friday.

If Apple is so concerned about third party rights they may want to start with leading by example. Steve Jobs is a fraud.

Android gives users and developers a lot more freedom than other alternatives - with that comes responsibility for both parties. If you want a platform where you are told what to, when to do it, and whom you can do it to get an iPhone.

The more they stay the same.

USPS's future lies in things that need to be delivered physically: shoes, computers and other objects, and the USPS has assets that could let it take on UPS and FedEx.

I could not disagree more. USPS's future lies in mail, e-mail to be more specific, they just need to step up to the plate and do what needs to be done. It's astounding that the USPS doesn't see the opportunity that is right in front of their eyes.

As much as I love it when a billionaire faceplants, I would suggest that free-forever is not a sustainable business model either - lest those who produce the content are given free food, clothing and shelter.

Edison tried 3,000 times before he got it down, my guess is that Murdoch and his team are no less determined. One good thing to remember is that the more money he earns, the more money you could potentially earn.
