Simply put, the 64bit version has better memory management for those damn apps that are only 32bit as yet. This means things actually run smoother on my system even though I supposedly don't need more then a 32bit OS. In fact my usage patterns are pretty similar to many others, Web Browsing (9+ tabs in Fifefox {2x instances of IE Tab}) Outlook in background, AV in background, A dedicated download manager, an ftp client grabbing current versions from server, utorrent and WMP playing my music collection while I browse /.

It was due to the nuclear deterent issue that Johnson had to be sworn in as President, because he did not have the needed authority to authorize a first strike after the assassination of President Kennedy.

Combine this with Harvard/MIT/Stanford/UC/CSU and other universities selling off parts of their "A" class ip's for major profit and I doubt we'll be running out of availble addresses for at least another 20 years.

The only thing which will push IP6 implementation will be government regulation/requirements to includes a Unique ID for every device based on the unit MAC address. An easy way for the government to force the change is to require all of the manufacturers to disable IP4 support in the NIC unless it's for Government/Military Use.

But, that seems a bit difficult, considering the number of applications, and the way in which they are used. You'd need something like popularity-contest to find out which apps are actually being used -- or you could just watch that user, or allow them to automagically submit a list of apps.

Which is exactly what Ubunta is doing with their community ratings. That's based upon how often an app is installed along with how long they stay on the system. Pretty simple really yet it has enormous impact on where Ubunta is devoting development effort. Popular apps get the development needed to either fix bugs or make damn sure it works well on Ubunta.

How many people would be willing to pay for this kind of service/product and when you combine it with Vista/Windows 7, all of the DRM lovers would actually have a win situation in front of them. Producers would be able to draconically control media access (rent programs instead of permanently saving them), force us to watch damn commercials instead of skipping them along with all the other aspects of control they want and MS is quite willing to hand it to them on a damn silver platter if they'd only get off their asses and work together. arghh!!!
