  1. Re:Many Factors on How Much Tech Can Kids Take? · · Score: 1

I agree there. I think adhd is what happens to kids who are raised by a tv, they always expect something always flash and exciting to be happening in front of them. When its not they go crazy since they have no attention span. Not a real medical issue, just the outcome of how they were raised and devolved at an early age.

We live out in the country and were stuck with satellite internet, we recently got custody of our 2 nieces (6 and 9 then) and they kept asking about online gaming and watching streaming netflix . They just could not understand why that dosent work at our house or what a 350mb daily download limit pr ping times of 1300 mean. They have had broadband their whole life and think the internet is just everywhere and always has been.

I've noticed the that too. So besides long term durability, poor emissions, bad fuel economy, much of the engine is not rebuildable(only replaceable) and high oil usage, they were pretty good motors. Also great I guess if you dont like to shift and run at 7000rpm all day. Course a biker will laugh at you with a 12k redline, cant win em all. They have 230 something HP i think ? Not that great, a 2L turbo 4 cylinder can do that and at over 30mpg. I saw a fairly new looking RX8 (2008-2009ish) at the gas station about a month ago, took them about 2 minutes and 5 or more tries at cranking before it got going. It would go and go and almost start then putter out. They didnt pop the hood or nothing, must always be like that.

Many people like their desktops, the batteries don't go dead, you always know where they are, the kids don't bring them to their rooms and still juice on it. A $600 desktop will outperform a laptop costing double the price, add a new video card a few years later and your right back up to date. Also, do not rule out the business side of it. Go into most any office and you will see rows of desktops and maybe a few scattered laptops. The IT people need power supplies, replacement drives, fans, keyboards. Tablets are not to useful in most offices, no keyboard, no usb ports, no printers, it all has to be bluetooth or wifi. And dont forget networking is a big seller. Wired, wireless, hubs, switches, modems, firewalls.

Can they also start stacking cpu's ? 12, 24, 48 cores ? It would have to have cooling pipes running though them, or thin separator plates connected to a cooling system and of soon you would need 220v outlets in your bedroom to power your 48 core system with cooling. Seems per-core cpu seeds have not gained much in the last few years, they are a faster per mhz though from better optimization but seem to mainly faster due to more cores per cpu.
