    Im sure there will always be a market for them, but they probably will not last much longer as mass marketed items. Their share will fall rapidly and unless your selling 15 million of something anymore it's considered a failure.

    At minimum a good windows log on password, bios set to not boot from cd & usb drives and a bios password will stop most entry level snoopers. If your worried, take your battery and PS with you in a backpack or keep them in a friends/co workers room. Bring a small motion activated spy cam to leave in your room, see if your fears are true. Keep your data encrypted or have someone back in the office email (encrypted files) it to you, or get it off your companies secure servers before your meeting.

    There are thousands of small internet radio stations, many make no profits or even loose money and they are suppose to pay artists and labels huge payments. Many of these kind of stations play independent artists and they don't even receive any of they money paid back to the recording artists unions. It's just a overly burdensome tax trying to prevent small internet broadcasters from existing and pulling listeners away from top 40 radio. Of course the simple fix, when stations are finally discovered and told to pay royalties, they just move their streaming location to some off shore web hosting company. They are then exempt from this US law.

    When ever I get board and start looking at ssd's at newegg, seems like 1 out of 4 reviews say something like after a few months they get constant blue screens, disk errors requiring several reinstallations of their favorite os. They warranty the drive and have the problem again.

    When my wife was taking math classes a few years ago, one of her professors had written his own text book and gave it away for free as a pdf to anyone, including other schools and teachers, who wanted it. He thought it was such a waste for the students to be forced to buy a $120 book they use once and then get $18 back for it, then see it resold for $86.

    People won't like Win 8 computers, they will also avoid Win 8 phones with out even trying them. We all have phones loaded with tons of apps from Itunes or G. Play and a switch to a Windows phone and we would have to rebuy all the apps (that are actually available anyway) from the MS apps store.

    But, being an android, a quick download and flash will root (if wanted) or load on the Play store. It probably does home some kid friendly toys-r-us storefront built in but nothing 60 seconds of your time wont fix. Too bad it dosent have Dpads on it, makes it much easier for gaming, I have a tablet with L & R Dpads and a joystick, for games that support hardware controls, it is much better. This of course wont be an Ipad or Kindle killer, but I would expect it to sell quite well.

    We had satellite for several years, ping time are more like 900 to 1200 on a good day. We also had only a 325mb per day limit, a few videos and a windows update and I was done for the day.

    In 98580 we have no cable, tv or internet or dsl. We are stuck with verizon 3g data service for 80$ a month but with only 10gb per month. I have to download games, updates and videos at work and bring them home on usb drives.

    For maybe 2 years I ran a BBS (The Smurf Pit) out of my bedroom, must have been around 88-90. I think I had 2 or 3 1541's and a 1571 that would get stuck and crash my board from time to time. Looking back, I dont see how they made the drives so slow, 30-90 seconds to load a game, the disk only held 180k total. After I made my user port to rs232 adapter and got a 9600 modem, I could download games faster than it took to load it.

    It's like people calling cable modems - modems. That stands for something like modulator de modulator, all analog functions dealing with digital to analog conversion. Modem is not the correct word but seems unlikely to ever change now.

    I can copy and paste a copyrighted story, picture, etc.. from a website into Word. Does that make it blacklisted program also ? BTW: I use to use youtube downloader all the time (before FF plugins). We had satellite internet as the only option in our rural area, it had small daily download limits, so I would save videos at work and bring them home to watch.

    My wife works at a school and she says many of the teachers have masters degrees and some can not fill out a simple time sheet. Things like travel requests or purchase orders are even more likely to be completely wrong. She calls them the smartest dumb people I know.

    So, if this person bought the laptop, and upgrades or clean installs Windows 8 and then the hardware failed, under these rules they also voided the warranty? The original operating system has now been replaced. So Microsoft should read this part, according to newegg, if a customer installs Windows 8 on a Windows 7 computer, they void their warranty. Buy Win 8 at your own risk. What about installing Firefox, games, office, itunes ? That would also alter the computer from it's manufactures original configuration, or simply turning the computer on and creating a user would alter the computer from it's as-shipped state.

    With more people using custom apps and connecting on facebook to their favorite stores, bands, movies, etc and search engines giving instant as you type recommendations, worrying about names of a web sites will not that important for much longer... I would think traditional web sites are becoming alot less used, when looking for quick information on a business, Ill check their facebook before the website. It will give you address, directions, any last minute specials they business may have posted and even say if they are currently open or closed. Even on the google search results page, you can get basic business info, with out ever clicking on the web site link itself.

    Tmobile has it data only plans for a long time. It brought was it out ,somewhat unadvertised, back when the original sidekicks came out (first phone with a keyboard I believe. That phone was a big hit with the deaf and speech impaired community and they had no reason to pay for a voice plan. But as for me, I am being ripped off. My family plans has no options for under 1000 minutes, and we typically use 100 or less a month on 2 lines.

    I really tried to use the FF on my phone, messed with setting, got ad-ons, but it just was bad. Pages would never display the right, things wouldnt work, it was slow, took alot of memory...I switched to dolphin hd a few months ago, everything works, no crashes, very fast to open and load pages and a few more things.

    Quite a few times on games Ive legally brought, either their registration sever was down, wanted to put the game on a laptop with no dvd drive, got a message this game has been registered more than 5 times, didnt want to pull the disk out every time I played, etc.....So I download a pirated crack or patch for the game, that I just bought, to fix overzealous or broken drm.

    An employee, who is allowed access to files/info, that they then are then copying/sharing/selling... Users who don't log out of their computers, or administrator who give users to much access to things they dont need to see. Is it hacking then the person has a sticky note with this months password on their monitor, or on their pull out keyboard if they think they are being sneaky.

    We have a verizon 4G wireless modem at home (running in 3G) and we usually get 150-250 ping time, not great but enough to play most games. At work with comcast I get a ping of 5-15 on speedtest.net's closest server.

    Leave a bunch of tablets laying around, even cheap ones, they will disappear pretty quickly. Who's going to round them up and charge them everynight ? BTW: I dont think getting the message out to stop smoking on tablets out will do anything. They know they have a problem, they wont sit their and watch ads and videos telling what they already know. You will just get 50 people a day asking how they can get into their facebook on this thing.
