Basically you are calling the Surface Pro an expensive toy for companies that are already thrall to the Microsoft enterprise sphere of Windows Server, Active Directory, SharePoint and Office.
Millions of iPad users have found out they did not need those ports, and the few who did got the Camera kit that had both. Storm in a tea cup. (But apparently with repercussions since some newer Android phones also has dropped the SD card slot.)
Microsoft has a shed-load of departments that do not talk to each other, and within those are teams that don't talk to each other. So we end up with e.g. projects in Visual Studio called "solutions", and SharePoint extensions also called "solutions". Which are often built from Visual Studio solutions. And we get hilarious events like when someone reverse-engineered the Kinect interface so you could use it with PCs (before the official SDK), and Microsoft legal said "that's wrong" and the Kinect guys instead were, like, "that's cool!"
Windows RT is not a general-purpose PC operating system, though - so they probably won't complain, much like they don't demand that Sony should offer competing browsers on the PS3.
Better than double-standard conservatives who want the "private sector" to solve every problem other people have, while the State solves your problem. Take the financial sector for instance, which went from "the Government should stay the hell out of our turf" to "waah waah bailout!" nearly overnight.
You conservatives should accept you are in the liberal West now; if you want conservative medieval politics, move to the Middle East.
There is no "white race". There is a branch of the human race that developed light skin. It is about as significant a difference as red hair. That French philosopher from 1775 had shit for brains. As did the later proponents of "the white farce".
... but this app will never be ported to Android because it costs money and Android users are famously cheap. This is not an example of an app that would work fine with ads in it.
You need a checkbox that says: Allow install of actually useful apps for non-nerds.
Any housewife with a bread knife has the ability to murder you. So far, more house wives have murdered than Apples have removed apps from devices. VLC sits nicely on my iPhone and in my iTunes, and if I want to be safe I can make a copy outside of iTunes' reach.
Apple are "better safe than sorry": If PRC wins they would aim their sights on a certain Cupertino-based, filthy rich corporation, that helped distributing the infringing app.
What the app makers should do is release the app in a different country's app store in the 90% of the world where the stupid idea of a software patent has been laughed at. Then the users can get an account there and update it at their leisure.
Creating new identities to post the same crap over and over is not debate, if that is what you think. And if you feel that "anti-racist" is "anti-white" you are probably a "white supremacist" anyway, stuck in superstition.

... and how much RAM does it have? So far they haven't said. Also: enjoy looking for ways to right-click in Windows 8 on the Pro.

Only if you foolishly enabled Active Desktop.
Ignoiring Jobs' significance to the industry is either envy, ignorance or plain old stupidity.

Welcome to Earth-2.
How do you write 3D graphics in HTML5?
WebGL, but good luck finding a browser that supports it.
Sony are unlikely to use the other stock answer of "your phone sucks get a Nexus", at least...
Device drivers in ICS largely aren't open source, though.
Headphones?
The cave paintings are long out of copyright, and as we all know, only works under copyright hold any value.
Yours,
The entertainment industry organizations.
Yeah, the multi-millonaires doing climate research are clearly being bullies towards the poor, downtrodden industry of mom-n-pop oil companies.

Thanks, but I haven't recovered from the Windows 7 launch party videos yet.
Maybe people have forgotten the context of that line... :)
Ethernet? A niche need in this day and age.

How would that work? You cannot install more than has been written. I cannot just wish Lightroom onto a tablet for instance.
But the app maker is unlikely to make it for e.g. Android, since Android users famously do not pay for their software.
