How are sites slashdotted when nobody reads TFAs?

My guess was always that it wasn't /. itself, but for a site to be on /., it must be at least somewhat popular and on other news sites (I can think of countless times I've read stories before there were posted here), and this is what can bring a server down.

From rumors I've read, I think they would if the labels would support it. A lot of songs that Apple has have non-DRM'd files at the same price as the DRM'd files - which makes me thing they would want to Non-DRM their store. And we all know how supportive labels are of non-DRM music and free and open sharing :-).

I would agree with you if he was using that schpeel to convert people to Linux, because with those "benefits", it's not going to go anywhere - because not many people understand what they mean.

However, he was doing this as a response to a specific complaint - who found these alleged shortcomings in his trial of Linux - and he was refuting these claims step by step.

So here is how I understand it. He modified the system so that when a transaction used fractions of a cent, it truncated it and put the fractions of a cent into a new account he had made. However, he must have missed a decimal point, because when he checked the next day, he had 7.2 billion dollars. He lost it by writing a check and putting it under his bosses door when the office was closed.
