It would be the same to demand that you check the tire pressure, oil level, and battery charge every time you get into your car. A lot of tests are done daily and you may have the incorrect dose running for up to 24 hours before being discovered if you're using lab tests to pick up medication pump errors. Unless it is such a gross error that a bag of fluid that should take 24 hours to infuse only takes part of your 8 hour shift.
