Go, take time off. Focus on your health. Come back to announce amazing apple products when you can.

Ok, first, the story lines SUCKED. And they had access back to Earth. That was lame. And Eli is a terrible character acted by a terrible actor.......I so wished for him to just die......

The whole Civilian vs. Military thing in the beginning was stupid. And the whole "I lost the baby but the aliens took it"......really? Who writes this BS? It's like it was written by a 16 year old nerdy girl who's at an away camp missing her family and her female lover. Sorta like if the Twilight series author wrote SciFi (or SyFy).

So much potential and it was squandered.

  8. Works for Microsoft on Flawed iTunes Stands Out Among Apple's Products · · Score: 1

Wait, so, Microsoft builds its whole business around old, unstable software......and this guy bitches about iTunes?

Honestly, iTunes is rock solid. It NEVER crashes. I can't think of a time when iTunes crashed on my Mac. Or if it ever did crash. Sure, it's getting a little bloated, but it still works great. The latest update is quite a bit faster it seems.

Sure, it would be nice to see iTunes be 64 bit, Coca on OS X so we could get it to be a little faster. And perhaps Ping isn't quite what everyone thought it would be.....but Apple has a great track record of fixing stuff. I think we won't see iTunes become completely Coca and 64 bit until Apple deems that PPC Macs are completely off the radar......I'd expect that in OS X 10.7 that we will see a new iTunes that is quite a bit different.

Plus......why didn't we see any iLife stuff????

  9. Nothing New on Broadway Musicians Replaced With Synthesizers · · Score: 1

This is nothing new. This has been happening since the late 90s when I started playing shows. It can work if done right. I think the best way to do it is to have at least ONE real instrument and then have a synth doing the parts underneath.

In fact, the show I'm starting next week we have one violin viola and cello and someone playing a synth to fill up the section. Sounds ok.

  10. Re:yellow dog linux still around? on What To Do With an Old G5 Tower? · · Score: 1

Exactly. If you are going to have something like that, a Mac Mini or a Atom powered Linux box would be better. I built an Atom "server" and the thing is nearly silent, and just sips power. I can't imagine having a G5 sitting around for doing fileserving or putting linux on it unless power consumption, noise, heat, and speed are not an issue.

Ah RIM, it must hurt seeing your Phone subjected to the same sort of pain Apple has been having. Proof is in the video. Sure, it might not happen at all, but it does happen, and we have video proof of it. RIM and Nokia need to deal with it.

I for one haven't had an issue at all with my iPhone 4. It's been great.

Using Gmail should not be allowed. Government officials need to have ALL their activities OPENED to us, the people, unless it is personal stuff. This stuff is NOT personal, it is skirting the law. I don't care if PREVIOUS administrations did it or not. I don't care. Obama promised to do things DIFFERENTLY and I see nothing but business as usual if not more of an orgy type atmosphere there since they have a hold on both houses as well right now.

Senator Specter is an excellent example of why we need term limits in D.C. This guy has been in the Senate for nearly 30 years. Since before Reagan was in Office. To keep is plush job, he looked at the poll numbers (they all do), and decided he needed to jump ship because he would lose the primary to his challenger.

He's almost 80. Why not retire and let the field be leveled for new people? Does he really think he's THAT important? Is he going to be THAT effective when he's 84/85?

I'm just fed up with all this. All of them. People who have been in the same position since before I was born (Joe Biden, I'm talking to YOU). I think they should be REQUIRED to leave office after 2 Senate terms (12 years).
