It's a rip of Pretender. We've been there, done that. It's predictable. Very predictable.
Firefly really should have started with the first 2 hour pilot. I think the writing could have been better on some episodes, but there is a lot of potential in the show......
I thought the 5th episode was rather good. The pilot, which you can download off Kazaa was really what they should have showed first. That really was well done compared to the first episode they showed (the train heist one).
But really, compared to Enterprise, it was different and interesting. Some episodes are better than others, but the last few were getting good.
It is too bad we really are locked into this Star Trek type of Sci-Fi on the main channels. You have to get SciFi to get Farscape, and most people don't get SciFi.
Is there some petition somewhere to save the show?
"Like, I went to the store to buy this laptop, and uh, like I got it home, and figured out that if you didn't have it plugged into the wall, it runs like, um, half speed. *insert slow wierd sound here*
So, I returned it and bought an Apple iBook. I unplugged it from like the wall, and *insert strange zippy sound here* it was still running like at full speed.
Yes, the Cube is a great machine. I'm curious as to what the noise level is if you install a 1 Ghz G4 via Sonnet or Powerlogix. I hear those require a fan:-(
My G4 Cube is great. It is silent except for a very very slight hard drive head noise. I installed a 120 Gig hard drive for use in recording. My mics never pick up computer noise. They sometimes get the AC when it's on.
The new iMacs (those lamp ones) are practically silent. Even some of the old iMacs are real quiet.
This article was great! I'm considering upgrading my PC at home (loud 600Mhz Pentium III), and this would be something to look into!
What ever happened to that free Mac game, NetTrek. The Star Trek like game where you'd go around and shoot people in Star Trek ships. That used to be free.....
Imagine that all those over weight geeks (*cough* cowboy neal) who would be slim if they had to pedal to play on the computer. All those stats that america is getting fatter, etc. Make those gaming kids have to pedal to play PS/2, or Gamecube, or PC games......
It could be a great thing.
The Palm Vx is a workhorse. I doubt I'll be trading up for anything new in the next year or maybe two. Unless someone comes out with a cell phone/pda that is about the size of the Vx........
There might be later, greater, more powerful, color, etc........PDAs out, but I still use my Palm Vx all the time. The PDA is small, has 8 megs of memory, and allows me to keep my phone numbers and appointments organized. I like using HandBase (or whatever it's called).
Only thing I'd like the PDA to do is perhaps call the numbers, and sync up better with some database that I can use on my computer. I'd also love to see a Date Book/Database thing. Something where I can keep track of people who owe me money and stuff (as I am a private teacher).
But, those are minor. The size of the device is what is important. I've looked at the Treos and they are interesting, but too big.
So, I'll stay with my palm for a while.....till it dies or something....

Maybe UPN will pick it up.........?!?
Exactly! I really think the 2 hour pilot should have been showed first. That was really well done in my opinion.
You know, I wish Fox would can that lame John Doe show, and would promote Firefly more. Joe Doe is total trash. Nothing new in that show.

I'm John, and I'm a certified Pron watcher."
Ouch..........funny though
Do we hear a third vote?

Dood, that is sooo funny!
Definately! Avon is a great character. I love rewatching the series and see Avon develop into the great rebel leader he was!
Of course, if Coda Music could get their ass in gear and get Finale out for OS X I could be happy. Running it in Classic mode is frustrating.
I'd be happy to see some more drivers out for OS X.....drivers for MOTU products for example...
details.......details.............
True. It's hard to imagine places that I've been, like Yosemite, being totally under ice. Yet, it was.
If we wait a few more years we can do an undersea cable.

Oh yes! And what role should Steve Ballmer play?
What about that other great BBC series, Blakes 7? I'd love to see that revived. Would be very cool with modern special effects.
More of a Mustang man myself...
"No Dave, I am not going to let you drive."
"No Dave, you don't want to turn right."
or worst going out to find the car decided it didn't want you to be it's owner anymore........

Indeed! How about wild space priests who molest children and who are terrorists somehow linked to Osama Bin Laden?
