This happened with a composer a couple of years ago, his wikipedia page was updated saying he wrote a pop song (performed by SClub 7 if I remember correctly).
This was quoted in his obituary, and since many papers have *supposedly* banned the use of wikipedia in their newsrooms.
The problem is perhaps wikipedia is such a fast resource for grabbing large chunks of information, it just makes it too easy for the "journalists".
Well, since your offering... I've been signed to the beta for ages and never got an invite. rob_dalton at Mr. Hotmail dot cometh.
Much obliged if you have one spare.
As the site went down after 8 hits, here's a dissapointing and annoying video from the authors of TeslaDownUnder. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9nRqbQr7VGk
As has been said, anything other than a timelapse photo of this contraption just looks rubbish,
Last Christmas, when everyone wanted a Wii and Nintendo was publicising the fact they couldn't have one, everyone I knew who wanted one got one.
That's with no exception, absolutely everyone had no problem aquiring one from a normal retail outlet.
Even the BBC reports were saying how hard it is to get one, just fuelling the need. I'm convinced it's 100% marketing, there's no actual basis to claim a shortage.
jsut to nip in there quickly, and this is effectively irrelavent, why the hell is everything tagged "story"?
Tags are annoying enough without it, but at least (tagging beta) has gone, that was driving me nuts.
I too find this completely bizarre, the ads almost say word for word "Unlimited, but not actually unlimited".
We all know it's ridiculous, and obviously no wonder people who go over their alloted bandwidth are confused.
A very good point, I always fail to understand why many programs and games lack a breif and concise description on their home page. Infact my custom has been lost to some companies for this small oversight.
Has anyone got any examples of before and afters, just so we can get an idea of what it does? Infact did anyone even get to use the demo before everyone saw the article and googled images for a Danni Ashe photo?
Not the railgun in the article but a lower power one with similar construction, and with an amazingly cool looking projectile. I know we're not in the habit of posting youtube vids, but I couldn't resist. http://youtube.com/watch?v=y54aLcC3G74
Isn't "script kiddies" a form of inverted impartiality in the context of this, or any, summary. It's a bit abiguous and frustrating to some in the way it only reflects the writers point of view of who uses these programs.
In the absence of a quirky and original last sentence, an anagram of "script kiddies" is "I predict kids"
Why not just let people be? Time and effort into investigating if your employee feels you are a frustrating boss with a small time neurosis and a paranoid streak are surely not worth the company time or money. It's a "conspiracy theory" right in the open.
I still genuinely don't understand why these people can't switch to FF, and also why the remaining Netscape users havent already. Especially as it's essentially very much the same, and stable.
I would consider AOL, alongside compuserve (If they had just got rid of those 12kmer9fskmf234kjr@compuserve.com names!!) relics of the old internet, as we know it today.
Further to other replys, Netscape was my first browser, and with this news post it does bring back a lot of memories. (A fair few of "pron" admitedly, before we had to type typos of words so lycos and altavista wouldn't misreport)
It's also very interesting to realise how prevelent Netscape was back in the day, and just how far it's fallen.
I'm also still convinced that if you hovered your mouse cursor over the little "key" icon in the bottom right toolbar, somehow magically your nude pictures of ladies will load up faster. All those memories are gone now, like tears in the rain, time for Netscape to die.
Repeat with me, there is no such thing as an anti-piracy tool for offline gaming.
The game Steel Beasts pro did a pretty good job by having a physical key (I beleive in the form of a serial dongle) attached to your system.
Seems to have kept the pirates at bay (harhar) so far.
Kudos, that's a brilliant idea, such a shame they won't call it that.
Of course you could always order some food from the Start Menu.
Did google cut funding half way through Mitchell Bakers' haircut?
Or is the haircut open source, so anyone can come along and change it as they please?
The Internet Regulation Authority?
Sorry couldn't resist.

Depends if your counting in dog years.
Assuming the UK price would be in the region of 200 to 300ukp, I just quickly put together a similar system at a UK custom computer site (ginger6)
AMD Athlon 64 X2 7750+ (2x 2.7GHz)(higher spec than evo console)
2gb Kingston DDR2 800mhz CL6.0
512mb Nvidia GeForce 9600GT (higher spec that console)
plus case, mobo etc; complete system:
256ukp
Add a fiver for a Playstation2 to USB converter, and plug in your controller (or add 15 for a new controller), maximum price is circa 275ukp.
At similar USA sites I checked, this system came out at just under $355.
I honestly can't see why anyone would want to buy the evo system.

As a UK resident, I am looking forward to NHS weaponry when I start to collect my pension.

Touche, although in this reply you have somewhat contradicted your aim. Catch 22 I guess. Everyone loves an annoying cunt anyway.

I'm just frightened the "Great Filter" is going to destroy us all. Is it a spaceship?
It wasn't a black Mesa by any chance was it? Argh srry I made myself feel a bit ill writing that.
Duck tape still works though, I always assume big operations use the branded stuff.
